Well, it looks like I'm going to be letting people down. I'm going to need a little more time to even finish chapter 04, much less 05 which should have dropped this month according to my very optimistic "Two a month" schedule.
Some of you might be wondering what happened, so I'll outline what's gone wrong with that.
First of all, unlike all the previous chapters, when I went at 04 I felt the need to rewrite basically everything. This despite the fact that it was easily the chapter I was most happy with out of what I'd previously had. What you'll be seeing (hopefully by next week,) is a complete reworking rather than just an edit.
I hope that this means I'm becoming a better writer.
The second major thing is that my shitty prologue keeps staring me in the face every time I look at this. It's still necessary to establish the setting, but it's also driving readers away with how rushed it is and the prevalence of mistakes. I've gotten feedback on it and been giving it some thought, and I want to improve it before I drop the next chapter.
I was really encouraged by the response to 03 (which now has more views than 02 somehow) and I know I've got at least something of an audience. I don't intend to disappoint you.
Chapter 1 has already seen some improvement, mostly in the very beginning as I rework how I'm describing Canterlot during the Fall. I hope this is somewhat of a step in the right direction, but I know that I need to drop in immersion more quickly.
I'm working on this every day and this tree will continue to bear fruit, I promise you.
The best thing to do is to have your editors look over it as you make it, and before you release. You still have those right?

I've yet to find someone offering to be a full on 'send it to me before you post it' editor. Unless you or Tactical are interested.
I could do that if you wanted. Where is Tactical anyway? Haven't seen him since we chatted months ago.
But yeah, if you are still able to use googledocs for the rough drafts(or prerelease final edits) I could run over them for you.
