    Potentially The End

Due to the suddenly VERY uncertain landscape that TTRPGs have been dropped into thanks to Wizards of The Coast and Hasbro, I am now faced with a problem.

For those of you who don't really pay attention to the world of Dungeons and Dragons, something of a war has begun. It is the fans vs. D&D owner and creator, Wizards of the Coast and, by proxy, Hasbro.

    The cause for the war?

    To the Surface!

Alright, I've been gone a long while. For the most part anyways. COVID... did not do me or mine any favors. Life got hard after it came in, and now I'm on my own.

    WWII

I have received a number of comments since the posting of Chapter 5 of Tartarus Forged. Most of those comments were respectful in asking why I would reference the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki like I did, and I thank you for that tact, but some of you... were not.

    It Started With An Idea

This is something that I've had running around my head for the last month or so. It's not something overly complicated, but about half-way through writing down this synopsis, I realized this had more potential than as just a fan-fic story. Alter a few key facts, such as ponies being involved... and I may have something I could genuinely turn into a book to one day be published.

Gonna Drop Off The Radar For A While · 12:18pm Jun 20th, 2018

Welcome to what I hope is some good news. I have some announcements to make.

The first announcement is regarding Tartarus Forged. I'm not going to start over with the story, but I still need to overhaul a great deal of material currently present in the story. A lot of what I've done and planned is going against the grain of what I wanted. When I get the time and inclination to do so I'm going to start editing the current chapters, updating them to my current standards of grammar, altering scenes I am wholly unhappy with, removing scenes that were completely unnecessary, and beginning work on a story board that will hopefully help me keep myself on track this time.

The second announcement is for Hero Souls. Like Tartarus Forged, I will not be starting over. Also like Tartarus Forged, I will begin work on a story board to keep me focused. However, that's it for similarities between the stories. I read what I have posted and noticed a distinct habit of jumping around a lot. Not in regards to scenes, but rather plots. I started the most recent batch of issues the Mane 6 are facing with the intent to cover them all in a few chapters, only to find myself spanning them across more than that, while trying to cram even more in there. I'm going to see if I can fix that. If not, I'll at least try and streamline it a bit more. You know, connect everything up a bit better.

The next announcement is in regards to my intention to officially step away from writing for the time being. It's become apparent my method of writing is leading to issues regarding maintaining focus on particular things inside the stories. That seems to be my biggest issue, my focus. I intent to spend this time studying how to be a better writer in general, and hopefully come back ready to get back on this saddle.

While self-improvement is the main reason for why I'm stepping away for a while, there is another issues in regards to my job. We are seriously understaffed at work, running on what amounts to faith, trust, spit, grit, caffeine (LOTS of caffeine...), chewed gum, and maybe a little pixie dust. My schedule, while not stable before due to the nature of my job being part-time, has become more so due to getting called in more often on my days off. However I don't have it the worst. I seriously feel bad for our managers. They're nearly pulling full day shifts just to keep up with the sheer amounts of work we have, and likely getting in trouble with HQ for it in the process. On top of that, we have a string of holidays nearly back to back making us feel like we went ten rounds with Tyson at the end of each day.

I used to like holidays...:pinkiesick:

Don't worry, I won't vanish completely. Wild manticores couldn't keep me from reading stories on this site, so I'll be around. But until things at work settle down and I get my writing act together, I won't be writing.

Until next time guys. Ciao!
