FlashLight Week 2018 · 9:33pm Jun 8th, 2018
Hello, FIMfiction. Tomorrow is the first day of FlashLight Week 2018, and I am both surprised and happy to say that I will be participating. I wasn’t planning to, but inspiration just ended up hitting me in the face from right across the interwebs.
You see, I’ve been wanting to write a Flash Sentry/FlashLight fic for a while, and I had this idea for this super complex, multi-chapter coming-of-age story centered around Flash. However, I think I’m going to end up scrapping that story. It ended up WAY too scattered, and more importantly, I didn’t really have an ending in mind for it.
In the process of attempting to write that story, I had an idea floating around in my head involving Flash dealing with his mom having cancer. I had decided to scrap it because I thought that I was already making poor Flash suffer enough as it is. Then, the audition videos for season 13 of America’s Got Talent came out, and this band ended up playing this beautiful song that I just could not stop listening to, and I just had to turn it into a fanfic.
So, my fanfic is mainly about Flash dealing with grief, but it does have FlashLight in it. It’s a multi-chapter, and each chapter is going to correspond to a day in FlashLight Week. I was worried that I was going to have trouble tying each day’s prompt into my fanfic idea, but I somehow managed to do it.
I might be a little late posting each chapter because I’m occupied from 9am to 5pm. Furthermore, I’m supposed to commit some of my free time into studying for this HUGE test that’s coming up next year, and the test is that huge that I’m going need a year’s worth of preparation in order to be ready for it. Fortunately, I was so inspired that I’ve already finished about 3/8ths of the fic. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post each chapter on time, but realistically speaking, I might not be able to.
