Rampage! · 2:40am Apr 13th, 2018

"Isle of Dogs" may have escaped my viewing eyes. But if I were to choose between either monster movie I've seen in its place, I personally stick with "Rampage."

Why, do you ask? Even with gigantic robots fighting alien monsters Ultraman style, "Pacific Rim: Uprising" still suffers from several of the tropes in a sequel. "Rampage" might not be the best movie either, but now seeing it in person, I feel justified in my thoughts that the overall tone and foul humor of the games themselves seem to translate well into this slightly polished version of a movie like "Sharknado" for instance.

If they were to be completely faithful to the games, I would have Dreamworks handle this. After all, "Monsters vs Aliens" already has a "Rampage" vibe to it; I would've loved to see a movie from them or even a potential crossover.

Does it give me some idea for my stories? Well, I already have the basic concept down for Kong in "Monsters of Everfree" well before the first trailer came out. Likewise, Dapplewood communicates with sign language, but after you see the movie, be glad I didn't give the boy a sick sense of humor.

It alleviates some stress, but...

I don't know how more of this anxiety I will take to see Isle of Dogs.

Breathe Deep, Seek Peace.
