Now, I am aware of the reboot of our Magnum-packing goddess. And therefore accept that the movie is based on those. As such, this serves more of an origin story; Lara isn't the efficient gunslinger many of us know.

And yet, at the same time, I like it just the same the two other movies! This is also the first video game movie that I know of that uses the "plant and payoff" story mechanic. For example, Lara and her father have an interest in a Panku puzzle; near the end we see Lara solve such a puzzle to open a tomb.

In the end, she gets her trademark magnums from a pawn shop, and is ready to put an end to an evil corporation.

While I put my bets on this being a good video game movie, I'm a man of honor when I want to give "Rampage" a fair chance.

So, after I make a review of "Peter Rabbit" tomorrow before going back to school, expect two more reviews a week away. What I ask is, what should be first on Thursday night?

Isle of Dogs?

Or

Pacific Rim: Uprising?
