It's great that Aardman is still carrying on after the unfortunate passing of Peter Sallis. Really, it does. But at this point of my watching, the box office for this movie... not good.
But does that make this a bad film? No, absolutely not. But it's not as good as many of their other works. Basically, this is Wallace and Gromit meets Space Jam, except with English Football. The plot is pretty predictable as a consequence and isn't as exciting.
Do I at least recommend a watch? If you're an Aardman fan and just want to watch it to bridge the long gap for "The Isle of Dogs," be my guest. At least there's an upcoming Shawn the Sheep movie called "Farmageddon."
