Happy Valentine's Day~! (Warning: Phinabella Rant) · 11:03pm Feb 14th, 2018

Ah, Valentine's Day, the day where we spend time with the one person who love the most...or stay at home, sitting on a bed, eating chocolate cake that you bought while blogging on a fansite about stuff that isn't entirely about said fandom. In fact, it's mostly NOT about said fandom, because I can do that around here...apparently.

Valentine's Day, for me, has always been a mix of depression, "meh", and "OMG AN EXCUSE TO READ FLUFFY ROMANCES WITHOUT ANY REGARD TO MY REPUTATION!"

Mostly the latter. Though my parents are really pushing me to get a guy. Do any of your parents do that? I wanna know for sure, cuz I've had plenty of talks with my parents about the subject. It's not uncomfortable, surprisingly, but it feels a bit weird considering that I'm trying to wait a bit on it?

So, I know I don't really post on this site much, so I bet not many of you are expecting anything from me, but I decided to make my own Top 11 Ships List to celebrate the day of love~! Why top 11? Because I'm a hack who isn't creative!

Now the thing to keep in mind is that not all the ships on this list are going to be MLP related, and that not all the ships listed here are considered canon in any way, shape, or form. If there's a couple here that you do not like, note that this is just my opinion.

Let's get started~!

11. Tai/Sora

A wasted potential romance that blossomed forth a beautiful friendship. That's all I have to say.

10. Ash/Serena

Three words: Cute. As. Heck. I just wanna bundle these two is a ball of cute and stuff their cuteness in a box of cute to keep all to myself.

9. SpikeBelle and SweetieMash

DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE~!

8. Drakken/Shego

There's a fine line between love and hate, and these two display it perfectly. Just. Kiss. Please.

7. sans/Toriel

Why did the skeleton want a friend? Because he was feeling bonely!

6. Twilight/Timber Spruce

(Extends arms open as angry fans open fire, accepting her fate) Take me now.

5. Dib/Tak

I can't help but feel a little sad when I think about this one. Like, out of all the ships in Invader Zim (none of which are canon because romance has little to nothing to do with IZ), I feel like DATR would've been the strongest. The idea that Dib actually managed to make a good connection with someone, even if it was brief, brings a little warmth in my heart.

4. Cinder/Kai

I just finished the first book of The Lunar Chronicles! Has anyone else read Cinder?! If you haven't you must go and do it NOW! Watch an audio book on YouTube or something, just do it! Do it now!

2. Pinkie Pie/Discord

Just...take a moment. Think about it. Have you ever wondered if, had Pinkie and Discord teamed up, they could possibly take over all of Equestria? It's a question I can't help but continue asking myself. And I still can't help but think such a concept would be very intriguing.

1. Phineas/Isabella

OKAY! And now I am about to tell YOU why Phinabella is one of the best. Ships. EVER.

1. They are cute. They are oh-so very cute. Just look at them, they are adorable together, and you want to see them happy.

2. The way their couple is portrayed is hilarious: no matter how much Isabella tries, Phineas remains totally oblivious to her affections as they grow up together. Then then then then THEN, the moment that Isabella decides it's finally time for her to move on, PHINEAS suddenly realizes that he is, indeed, in love with her, and it even indicates that the roles have switched from then on until they finally tell each other how they feel.

3. Isabella craves attention; specifically positive attention. When that attention is taken from her by anyone, she feels immediately threatened and irritated. In a sense, Isabella can be seen as arrogant, a show-off even, no matter how little she seems to realize this. Now here comes Phineas, the boy she is pining for -- the ONLY character who doesn't seem to entirely notice her. Sure, they're obviously best friends, and Phineas has complimented her abilities, and whenever she's in trouble with anything he'll drop whatever he's doing just to assist her, but has for the most part remained in the dark of her advances no matter how much she tries. It is hilariously ironic.

4. What's more ironic is that Phinabella moments are usually based on Isabella's own subverted expectations. She expects to reenact Cinderella in one moment, and ends up dancing with Phineas, both of them barefoot, in another. She wants Phineas to enjoy a sunset with her while completing the day's activity is in jeopardy, and the moment she sacrifices the moment to ensure Phineas' happiness, she is rewarded with a full-out embrace. Even when Phineas was more focused on helping Baljeet create a romantic setting for him and his friend, Mishti, Phineas spent a majority of time with Isabella.

5. They care very deeply for each other, are willing to make sacrifices for the other's sake, and have spent time trying to help the other with their own excursions. Whenever Isabella is in any sort of danger, Phineas will either act, or feel genuine concern/panic for his friend's safety. He does NOT act this way with anyone else; yes, he has felt dismay for his sister's safety, and without Ferb he seems tired and defeated, but Phineas is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Isabella specifically out of any sort of threatening situation: whether it's saving her from a robotic bug, or literally tackling down a Pharmazombie only to be infected himself.

I could very well go on and on about why these two are awesome together and why I want nothing more than to ship them to the stars and back, but I hope this shows you all why my love for this couple will never cease to be, even though the show itself has reached to an end. Something like Phineas and Ferb, to me, can never really lose it's flavor in entertainment anyway. It has it's own purity to it in it's own rite.
