Chapter Rewrite · 9:18am Jan 19th, 2018
Hey Everypony!
So rather than work on the latest chapter in 'An Alternate Ending to 'A Canterlot Wedding'', I decided to rewrite one of the earlier chapters. The first chapter, to be exact.
I have been working on this story for a little over two years now (I think. Don't quote me on the exact timeline.) and I feel like my writing had improved immensely in that time.
I hope I was able to clear up some of the confusion as to what happened to cause Twilight to act as she did, as well as clean up a lot of the grammatical errors.
The first time I reread one of my earlier chapters after a period of about six months or so, I literally cringed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who posted a comment on my story, especially the ones that pointed out plot-holes, or my desperate need for editing.
I will admit that when I first read an uncomplimentary comment, I was unhappy.
And I'm not proud to admit that I was too proud to admit my mistakes at first.
It's taken me a while, but I've gotten over myself (mostly, anyway) and am now truly grateful to have received those comments.
They opened up my eyes and helped me move forward and learn as a writer.
So thank you, everypony.
I do intend to finish this story, and I will be rewriting and/or editing previous chapters.
I'm still not nearly as good a writer as I hope to become, and I would like to let everypony know that all and any comments are welcome and appreciated.
(Just please be respectful towards other commenters.)
I would greatly appreciate it if anypony who read the original cringe-worthy first chapter would be willing to take a few minutes to read the rewrite and leave a comment letting me know how I did. I promise to read each and every one and do my best to learn from them.
Thank-you for reading my story, and helping me to become a better writer.
Sorry for the slightly rambling nature of this post, it's been a long day.
