I am not in a good mood. · 5:11am Jan 8th, 2018

Tonight was dead, though it was the bad kind of dead. A long time of sporadic clusters of dishes. I did have Project: Sunflower with me so I got to do some reading, but the end of the night was terrible. It was 7:30, I had an empty sink, and I had all of the bar, pasta side, and pizza side done. Then a 14-top and a 3-top came in. The 14-top didn’t leave until 8:40, the 3-top didn’t leave until 9:13. So I got swamped by cups at 9:00. Then when I was finally ready to mop, I found the the silverware bin was in the sink. There is a point in the night when I’ve done the silverware for the last time for the night, I’ll put the bn up as a sign that I won’t be doing any more. There was virtually nothing in the bin. Yet my boss put the bin back in the sink as if to say “do it again.” To top the night off, my headphone cable got yanked out of my phone. This is nothing new, it catches on stuff all the time. This time however, the connecting adapter part that actually goes in the phone, stayed in the phone. So the same headphone I use for chatting on the ps4 and generally listening to music are busted and I need to get a new pair.

I’m just going to veg tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do but... I need a day.

Um, um...Have a cookie?

I wanna help but I can't.

Were you able to get the end of the plug out of the jack?

If not, cut one end of a toothpick flat + a tiny dab of super glue on the end, press it to the bit stuck inside the jack, hold it there a few minutes to let the glue set, and pull. I've done it with the ends of RCA cables that break off inside the jack on the back of tvs/etc.

I highly recommend bluetooth headphones if you can afford 'em. I particularly love my bone conducting bluetooth headphones. They don't go inside your ears, so you can still hear if say, your boss says something to you, but they work great, especially while at work. And no cords to snag. Mine have lasted nearly two years of daily wear, and while they're starting to fall apart, I sure got my money's worth o' music outta 'em!

I had that happen to me before. Only the headphones got stuck between the seats of my mother's car. Not knowing any better, I yank on the cord and when it won't budge I think, "Okay, maybe it's stuck between the seats" so I yank hard, and try following the cable when even that doesn't work and getting it out that way. I hear a crunch of some sort so I stupidly think I am loosening it. I eventually get it out (My mom is losing patience with me at this point) and I don't think anything of it.

Eventually when I use my headphones later (I didn't use them that night as the 3DS game I was playing didn't really need sound in a crowded place as I played it to death. This was Earthbound by the way) I find out that I scraped a bit of the plating on the jack that incorporates sound in the device was shot. I don't know what happened, but I think I scraped a bit of that out and it won't do sound no more.

Luckily I got a new pair, and I am going to have someone who knows electronics look at it and see if it is actually dead or maybe I was just dumb. I think they are shot but if they are fixable I would have a backup pair of headphones.

Sorry if this makes no sense, I don't know what happened and it's vague to me too!
