I'll be there for you, because you're there for me too. · 7:22am Dec 6th, 2017
So, it's been a while. Where have I been? If you want to know the kind of awkward and embarrassing truth, I've been binge-watching the Hell out of the entire series of "Friends". That's right, all 236 episodes in the span of two months or so. I've done basically nothing but eat, work, and watch Friends. It's shocking how easy it was too. Normally when I try to watch a show I'll have to take it in chunks, and I'm a bit exhausted by the end (and that's after ONE season) but somehow the flow of this special series was completely different from anything else I've ever seen. It was so much less episodic than I expected, having elements continually being woven in and out, plots coming and going and situations changing. It really was like watching 10 years of somebody's life passing by. It wasn't PERFECT by any means, there were some continuity and logic issues, and the Ross/Rachel situation got tired and boring around Season 5, and the fact that Phoebe's father never appeared after she found him still irks me, but overall it was a smooth experience that I just couldn't get enough of. And this isn't just nostalgia talking either. I remember up to Season 5, have vague recollections of Season 6-8, but had no idea what came after that. And even the material I didn't witness at the time was great, funny, and touching. And the final scene of the series was just masterful, even if it doesn't break new ground or have any big plot twists. After 236 episodes, I'm actually kind of sad that it's over.
In many ways it's what I hoped that the reconstituted "Shadowbolts Adventures" would be, but executed so much better. I'm sorry to leave both SA and "Corpse Pony" hanging, but hopefully now that this long journey into the 90's is over, I'll be able to focus on making something of my own with renewed vigor.
Damn...talk about getting caught up in a TV show. The closest thing to that I've done is the time me and my mom stayed up till one in the morning to see the final episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's fifth season.
Glad to see Shadowbolts Adventures is coming back by the way.
You got a favorite episode?

Probably the one with the glass of fat. Something about an episode written to be one long continuous scene taking place entirely in one room just makes my jaw drop. It was like a really well-done stage play.

Friends. My mom and I used to watch that back in the day. Favorite 90s sitcom, hands down.
