Before this blog post, I was writing about the bond I have with Ocarina of Time. This caused me to go fishing through my email to find a photo of me when I was Link, but suffice to say, what I found instead almost brought me to tears. Emails, back in forth, to my father and mother, grandfather and grandmother, in which I can see the jubilance and innocence in every misspelled and CAPPED word I wrote.

I'd rather not bore you with my identity crisis, but instead, share the first I ever wrote. And to answer your question, yes, I have not improved at all over the years.

The golden harp
Once upon a time there was a boy named Nathan. He lived close to a forest. He lives with Mom, Dad, and his Grandpa. His Grandpa was a famous treasure hunter. He almost had all of the treasure in the U.S. He only needed one more treasure then he would have them all. The Golden Harp was the hardest to find. The legend says that the golden harp is in a forest called The Forest of Doom. Nathan knows where the Forest of Doom is but the Golden Harp has been lost for many years. However there is one way to find it, the Holy map. This map shows where every treasure in the world is, but no one no where the Holy map is. But one Boy will find it. It all started one day when Nathan came home from school. He ate some cookie and his mom yelled down to him “Its chore day today”, “I know he replied. He went in to the back yard and starting planting flowers. While he was digging he hit something hard, he put down the shovel and picked something up from the hole. It was a treasure chest. He brought it in side and showed his Grandpa. “Grandpa, I found some thing cool lets open it, ok?” He said. Once they opened it, they saw the Holy map. His grandpa’s eyes lit up, he had a closer look at he yelled “yes!” Nathan asked “what is it?” “It’s the map to the Golden Harp, that has been lost for years.” “Cool does that mean you are going to go in the forest and get it?” Nathan asked. “No I am to old to go get it” Grandpa replied. “Hey maybe I can go and get it for you?” asked Nathan. “No! its to dangers, I will keep this map hidden somewhere in my room. Now go do your chores, take the Dog out for a walk and finish planting the flowers, please.” Nathan left the room sulking, he really wanted for go find the Golden Harp. Just when Nathan tried to put the leash on the Dog Alex, He ran off. Alex ran up to the table and got the map in his mouth and brought it back to Nathan. Ok Alex lets go for a walk. “Grandpa, I am taking Alex out for a walk I will be back soon” yelled Nathan. They walked all the way down to the forest. “Thanks Alex for getting the Holy map now lets go find the Golden Harp.” ee here the map shows its not that far away all we to do is cross the cave of wonders’ cool then swim the lake of magic clicmb the tallest tree and cross the lake of sharks but the last one is back I guss we will find what it is soon ok lets start walking as thy were walking to the cave Nathan look at the map again it said there are traps in the cave but on the map it showed him how to doge the traps but if I don t do it right I can get hurt badly he looked what he had to do first arowers will soot from the walls so I have to I have to lay down and roll after that spikes will come from the ground here is a handle on the roof so I have to hold on to that and wait for the spikes to go back into the ground ten drop down lay and roll case spikes come from the roof then pull the string then the door will open ok. We are here alex u stay here case u can get hurt man is it dark in here lucky I brought a flash light hey the doors closed ok I should put the map in my pocket ok first ahh arrows’ I lay down roll a little bit man was that close ok wow there are spikes coming from the grown now where’s that handle there it is got reach it got ok got to hang on for a little ok there gone drop down man dose my back hurt I shold lay down
Ahh I forgot that spikes come from the roof lucky me roll a little bit done now I can stand up hey there’s the rope pull on that hey the doors are open ok alex you can come now bark bark
Good dog so I passed the cave now we need to swim the lake of magic that should be easy I a very good swimmer bark bark alex get back here wow you found a sword and a carrying case made for it. I am going to keep this good dog ok now for a little swimming man is this water cold. But I have to swim it alex come in the the water bark bark wow most of the water is seaweed how am I so post to swim in this. Hey it may not be save but I think I need to use the sword to cut all of the seaweed take it out carefully. Now cut the seaweed left to the right hey the sword is stuck in the seaweed ok got it out no! I dropped the sword I can see it but I can t swim that far down I should try. Take a big breath there it is isn t that far anymore yes got it owww! I crack my back I can t swim up wait fish are coming my way what the fish are pushing me back up to the land wow the fish saved me yes I still have the sword yes I cut all of the seaweed now got to pull my self up come up alex man am I lucky that my backpack was water proof so the map didn’t t get wet. Ok now lets see here we swam the lake of magic the I have to climb the highest tree wow. There are a lot of tall trees I guess I have to climb but how am I so post to get alex up there I guess I will find out later. Ow I can t climb some trees case they have a lot of big spikes. on them hey there one without any spikes up up up up wow I am very. high now lets see what one is the biggest tree there but. Its to far away wait a minute hey there is log on the tree what is it doing on here. Hey I have a idea if I carry his I can put on the side of the tree and then I can cross the trees to the tallest one but. I have to make sure I am careful case if I fall it would hurt a lot ok man is this heavy! Ok wow ok keep my balances ok I cross one just have to cross 2 more. Hey these to are very close I can just jump ok that’s one that’s two hey this is the tallest. But now how m I so post to get alex up here. Look there is a rope if I throw it down alex can bite I can pull him up ok alex bite on to this bark man are you heavy ok you are up hey I see a lake wait that is the shark water how am I so post to cross that wait the trees go a cross it and they are close to each other. We can run a cross but the sharks will eat the trees so we have to run very fast. Ok alex on the count on 3 we are going to run 1 2 3 run! As they were running the trees that they crossed fell only 2 more trees we made it! Man was that close. Ok lets look at the map ok we crossed the trees now we are at the blank spot ok lets put the map in my pocket. When he did that there it was the golden harp so its true its really true. Nathan picked it up wow its real gold look there is a other way out lets see well it takes me he jump down it were he started Nathan ran inside and he showed his grandpa you found the golden harp wow and grandpa I want you to have thank you thank you very much man that was fun. Lets see if I can play the golden harp.
