amazon job fact sheet · 3:36am Nov 22nd, 2017
+$12 an hour, full time with benefits
+their warehouses are a marvel of distribution engineering
+Amazon doesn't care enough to lie to you
+they have employee training down to a science
+the break room has cheap food and soda
+day four and my hands are fine!!
-there are two break rooms in one massive warehouse, so five minutes of your breaks are spent walking
-11 hours a day of powerwalking on cement, my feet are fucking dead, like I could feel my heels splitting open yesterday
-they reserve the right to fire you for any reason without warning
-miles and miles of depressing bougie tat
I think I got used to cement after a month or so, if you don't already I'd recommend getting some good supportive shoes or you're going to suffer eternally. I was told to get two pairs and that alternating would make both last much longer.
It's good to hear you're hands are doing good

Oh, what do you do?
Yeah, I bought some shoes today that I've got high hopes for, though it turns out I won't be using them until tomorrow (VTO, hell yeah). If I can just do something about the foot problem, just bring it down a notch with a good pair of shoes, this won't be such a bad job at all.

I unload trucks and do other miscellaneous stuff for walmart. Not very glamorous but you get to talk to other people while you work and given the team oriented nature and every truck being different(as well as two trucks some days) each day is unique. Also rarely have to interact with costumers given its a retail job and It's pretty chill overall for $10 an hour.
Hopefully gonna get a car and start school soon though.

I wouldn't mind unloading trucks myself. I'm a picker, though. Which isn't too bad. It's a solitary job, which I like, and it's kind of fun to see how much goofy bullshit there is for sale in the world. Actually, wait, how much of that was made in sweatshops? Shit, I hope I don't have the time to think about that tonight.
I've heard Walmart is sometimes terrible to its employees. What's your own experience with them?

I think thats a case by case thing. The company itself has its fair share of nonsense, recently we've all been annoyed at orders from on high about little nitpicky ways to do our job that are of course sub optimal and even detrimental at times.
But I've got okay supervisor's and the management at my store are all awesome people so I've never had anything to complain about there.
