Flying through things, Star Wars and an upcoming holiday... sort of. · 1:35am Nov 17th, 2017
I don't know why, but the last few weeks have been great for me writing! I hope to continue this trend. I wrote four or five chapters of my new Antares story The Storm and the Scorpion which is my take on Antares in the movie. It's turning out really well. You know what else I just finished? Another chapter of the main Antares story. A rather heartwarming one, too. I've sent it off to my editors.
And hey, anybody play Knights of the Old Republic 2? I've been playing that a lot recently. Did the game ever seem a little incomplete to you? Well that's because it was. They cut a lot of stuff out to make the Christmas deadline. Well, I found a mod that restores almost all of the missing content, and let me tell you, it's like playing a new game sometimes, which is awesome. You can find it on Steam alongside a bunch of other neat mods.
One of said mods is restoring the mission to save the female Jedi master you find on Korriban. She's alive in the mission and on a droid planet. They... were right to cut that mission out. It's horrendously boring. You're just running around doing fetch quests and getting lost in this large planet that pretty much looks the same. I know that KotOR has a lot of fetch quests and stuff, but they're either optional or advance the story in an interesting way. Not so here. It's maddeningly repetitive to the point where even your character starts getting annoyed about it. I ended up looking through a walkthrough because I didn't want to spend 15 minutes looking at every nook and cranny trying to find my next objective. KotOR is usually pretty straightforward. Not so much here. It thinks it is, but it isn't.
Still, that mod is separate from the other restored content. The restored content itself fixes a lot. You know that redemption mission on Dantooine that you could never complete no matter what you did, even if you played through the game six or seven times like I did in my childhood? You can in the new mod.

So, what's the new holiday? Well, it's not really a holiday. It's more a time of the year. It's Oscar season! The time when a bunch of pretentious films that think they're saying more than they are and care about importance over quality come out!
Pic unre... you know what? Screw that. This movie sucked.
Now I'm going to keep watching the Oscar race which is going to heat up a lot over the next month. So far the film I want to win Oscars the most is Get Out, a film that dealt with race in a manner better than any film I've ever seen, if I'm going to be honest. Initial buzz tells me that I might get what I want here.
Either way, it's my third favorite season of the year after Halloween/October and Christmas/December.
So there's that. Yeah, go read my new story. I'm really proud of it so far.
Also, do you guys see it in your feed when I post a new story/chapter? I'm not sure about that since the site update.

My favorite part of the restored content is the HK-50 factory, because it's all HK-47(and 50, and 51) goodness 24/7, even if it does have some continuity clash with the history of the HK-51 model from The Old Republic.
And yeah, I see new updates in the feed when posted.
I saw your fic for the movie in the feed.^^ Though, there's this other bug, where someone who has a fic of yours in a bookshelf (except for Read Later, there it works) doesn't get a notification in the feed if you release a blog entry that has this fic attached.
It's pretty annoying, cause it limits exposure for an author a lot and I think it still isn't fixed.....
