So I was going to post a vid of Dawn's Lament from the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, "Once More, With Feeling," and make a gag about it that centered on seeing one of the RHPS-ish-knockoff performances ... but then I couldn't find a clip at a decent enough quality that I liked, so I now I'm just blathering on the blog function instead.
Internet, folks!
So yeah. Just felt like checking in with an update, as I don't quite have anywhere else to goob about writing and stuff. In any case, I'm still chipping away at NaNoWriMo-- I'm a few hundred words past the 21k mark, so that's good. It's actually the farthest I've done on a NaNoWriMo in a long time. I'm still about a day behind, but still, writing is writing, right? Though it's kind of funny, as this inspired me to go peek at some earlier writing projects I've abandoned, and ... y'know, some of them aren't terrible? Maybe I can write about something other than magical tiny horses (or teenagers who are inexplicable extradimensional doppelgangers of tiny magic horses).
Even if what I'm writing (a badly researched time travel story that is honestly mostly snarky dialogue and cheesy exposition) is absolutely terrible. Like, there might be some salvageable bits in there, but right now I just have a big disconnected mess of expositions and descriptions and stuff. Oh, and a few paragraphs that I could use for another installment of The Flash Sentry Papers.
Though I suppose I could at least just shout TIME TRAVEL PARADOX! and use that as an excuse. Or something.
Amusingly enough, probably one of the better sequences I've written into it thus far involves a monster randomly showing up and eating an intern, so ... maybe I just need more monsters. Who knows?
If anything, giving a go at this is ostensibly something to get me in the habit of writing original fiction regularly, which may lead to me writing something that doesn't suck.
Eventually.
