My next steps, finding a better route · 6:44am Oct 11th, 2017
Hey guys, just figured I'd let you know what's going on.
So, fixing the balance, let's talk. It's gone great, I'm slowly getting somewhere with the story, and I've enjoyed every moment of writing it.
However, things have been a bit.. Slow, to say the least. I'm still struggling to get to a point where I feel I can move forward with a chapter, and can't seem to get my interactions between characters done right, especially seeing as they've now split into two groups in the story.
Being honest though, this is also my fault. If you go back and look at the stories first few chapters (and some of the newer ones), you can see a clear lack of detail and characterisation. While this could show my improvements while Doing this story, it makes the story feel bad compared to most others, and is likely why there are so many dislikes on my story.
Not all hope is gone however, as I felt something while going back and remastering chapter one. I felt as though there was finally something I could do to fix this, and improve the story in general. Any issues with previous chapters, any problems with my characters interactions all could be fixed.
So, while I'm not gonna stop with my efforts to get more chapters out, I will be placing a greater priority on my remastering process. I feel like if I can make the older chapters better, I will be able to attract a larger audience who enjoys the story, and begin to gain a better understanding of my characters myself. Maybe then you guys might comment on the story.
Anyway, gotta get ready for another day at college (the OTHER reason chapters are taking so long) and prepare for my job interview tomorrow (another reason. You know, I'm starting to think these delays are coming from my own stupidity or something).
