Cloudy Skies recently started posting To Perytonia.
To Perytonia is a long (very long) adventure fic that also features FlutterDash. I do not want to spoil any of it, because it's well worth reading, but I will say that the story becomes more engaging with every new chapter. Through the eyes of Rainbow Dash, Cloudy reveals the world of Perytonia to us, colored both by Rainbow's perspective, as well as our own expectations.

(Edit) I'm going to inject here that I helped Cloudy by prereading this story. I've read the whole thing. It's not all posted yet. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.
I won't belabor the point, because I can't say enough about it without my fear of precoloring people's expectations. I quite thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.
Always good to see stories from people who are a blast from the past (well for this fandom anyway). I will even read even though it does not have my favorite characters as a major character which is getting rarer these days for me to do.

I've heard of plans to do a story with Twi, AJ, and Pinkie, but that would be another year off if Cloudy started today.
I hear ya on reading stuff that isn't your prime thing. I ended up cutting back similarly about 4 years ago. Damn, it's been a while.
Been looking forward to that story for quite a while. Will be reading it as soon as I have a chance. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
