Rainbow Factory: The Blackest Night Update

Greetings Gotham, Joker here! Progress on the opening chapter of Rainbow Factory: The Blackest Night, is coming along swimmingly. With luck, I'll be able to get the project up and running some time today. Now, with that in mind, I feel I should explain some of the finer details of the story, namely Scootaloo's ability to drain Spectra using her Black Power Ring.

According to my research into the Rainbow Factory mythos, Spectra comes in every color of the rainbow,hence why it's extracted to create each color of the rainbows that arc across the sky, with younger ponies having purer Spectra due to not having experienced the disappointments life brings. You know what else happens to be every color of the rainbow?

That's right. The emotional spectrum. Research into the Black Lanterns indicates that they gained power by causing their victims to feel strong emotions (most likely fear, because who wouldn't be terrified of having a bunch of super-powered zombies come after you?) before killing them and feeding on their hearts, thus providing them with power for their rings. Scootaloo's Spectra Drain ability works in a similar fashion, although it only really works on ponies. Whatever emotion her victims are feeling is the color of Spectra she drains to power her ring and her own ability to feel emotions. However, there is a side effect to this ability: while she's draining her victim's Spectra, Scootaloo also begins to feel that emotion, casuing her to be disoriented for a few moments, as well as feel that feeling in a somewhat amplified form. For example, say Scoots drains yellow Spectra (fear) from a pony to the point where the pony she's draining the Spectra from shrivels up into a corpse. Once she's finished draining the pony's Spectra, she'll act in a way that makes it look like she inhaled Scarecrow's Fear Toxin. A similar effect plays out for the other emotions. Does that make sense?

Also, about Scootaloo's final confrontation with Rainbow Dash... let's just say it will end where it began. And no, I'm not talking about the fight taking place in the Rainbow Factory.

Hmm i do feel that the feeling what they feel would be some thing she build a tolerance to but i would also bring up she could over time start to well stop feeling things out side of those moments
