Critical Mass Chapter 7 & Chapter 8 (And General Update of Series) · 3:45pm Aug 25th, 2017

Not really sure what else to call this blog post. Last night while I was laying in bed, I had the idea of asking you all your thoughts on what you think is going to be in Chapter 7 and Chapter 8. Chapter 7 is mostly done, and if today goes correctly, then it'll be released tomorrow at the normal time, which means in 1-3 weeks, Chapter 8 will be out and Critical Mass will be completed. Also, I have plans for a sequel which will be more akin to Reaction, but less sad. Once again, I have no idea how long it will be.

It's a bit exciting for me, and I hope it is for you as well.

But yes, I've stated before that I will never get to experience what you all get from reading it because I've authored it. So, please comment on Chapter 7 after you read it, and if you want to, please share your thoughts here on what you think Chapter 7 and Chapter 8 are going to feature/have which is notable. I'm curious to see if any of you are close/right and whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. Also, as I've said before, the darkest scene in this series is in this chapter (Chapter 7), but it ends happily in Chapter 8. What do you think this involves?

Also of note, many of my favorite scenes are coming up (the scenes which I planned this story around), although I feel like I've struggled with writing Chapter 7 in some many parts. It may show, I'm not sure. My writing style with this series doesn't really go well with adventure/action, at least in my opinion. I've grown to like this writing style, too... I'll have to continue to write more stories with this sort of writing style.

So in just a few short weeks (college permitting), I will be finishing Critical Mass. It's a bit demotivating to realize that even after finishing it, you could just skip it if you only want to enjoy cuddles/snuggles, since it hasn't had a lot... I think I've said it before, but I have basically two more plot ideas for this series, but the problem is because of their nature, I'd have to combine them. I can make it work, but because of their nature, it's the sort of story that's written to be the final chapter in a series... I'm not sure I want that yet.

I would really encourage you to stick around for the sequel. It's going back to slice of life genre and less depressing.

Of course, skipping Critical Mass isn't advised, not just because of the work I've put in it, but because if you'd do that you'd be missing out on valuable context to keep in mind in the sequel. Or maybe this context will ruin it and you'll all hate me for that one scene...

And of course, I'm planning on starting that Author's Commentary series on this series where I'll go into depth on my thinking and analysis and such of my series along with my plans with it.

My prediction

chapter 7: RD and Luna find twilight, because although twilight is being forced to stay awake, there is only so much you can do before someone falls asleep regardless of what you try. (Or they die, but I don't see that happening). So Luna finds twilight through the dreamscape and she along with RD and maybe some guards go to rescue her. Obviously chrysalis fights back and I'm going to assume that rainbow ( or maybe Luna, though that's less likely) gets injured in the battle and twilight will beat herself up over it.

Chapter 8: twilight and rainbow are reunited, twilight is sad and angry (at herself) that rainbow is injured but rainbow brushes it off saying "these injuries are worth saving you" and that she'd do it all over again to save her. Half the chapter would be the two of them cuddling in a hospital bed while talking, and many tears will be shed, both in the story and the real world.

Let's see how accurate I am.
