New art (commissioned by me), dialogue help requested

So, the ever awesome Moth (mochi_nation on Twitter and Mstdn.social) drew this commission for me of me server her Highness at my store.

Problem for me is that I have no idea what they should be talking about, so y'all got any ideas?

A New Generation of ponies (possible mild spoilers)

So, the time has come, G5/A New Generation the movie has dropped. Not bad, though I do agree with Dr Wolf that it seemed rushed at times, likely as he said a side effect of it being under two hours. Before I'd seen it, based on rumors and clips leaked on YouTube I would've described as 'a group of ponies go searching for the magical MacGuffin only to find out what's really important'. Seriously,

    Punting Google

And hopefully some or all of the authors I work with will be willing to follow me. The whole story is over here but the short version is Google is being really blatant about how much they track you, and it's making me a bit uncomfortable. Yes, I'll still keep using their services as long as authors I work with use it, but I rather hope

New bookshelf, Über Favorites · 6:23am Aug 16th, 2017

Not normally an Equus shattering bit of news, right?

I suppose it still isn't, but I figured it was interesting enough for a blog entry.

So, why another bookshelf?
Because there are some stories in my opinion that really deserve to stand out. They may not be the best written, nor the most original over all, but there is something that makes them stand out.

Hard Reset, part of a trilogy where a semi-sentient entity destroys timelines in a search for one of perfect harmony. That description doesn't do it justice, has a fascinating take on magic, destiny and the Elements of Harmony, and explores some interesting variants on Twilight.

How Equestria Came To Be, a story which in a mere 5.5K words re-thinks how the EQG fits into the continuum, comes up with a unique origin for the princess, and some how manages not to violate canon.

Seasons of the Heart, is not just a warm and wonderful tale, but has some really imaginative world building, from the origin of the sisters to a visit to Mustangia, a nation of ponies that has a unique culture compared to Equestria

The Celestia Code, very cool world building involving Equestrias past that includes a really good origin for Sombra and a fairly decent origin for the changeling race and Chrysalis

There is one more story I want to add, but I can't recall the title. A murder mystery in which Equestria is a magical construct, a magical machine as it were, a secret that the Princesses keep and don't fully understand. Twilight ascends when she achieves a level of understanding of the machine that no other has. If anyone knows what story this is, I'd love a link.

Homecoming... Where to start... What EQG should've been? This is but the start of a series, an entire universe of stories that take EQG girls some place that Hasbro will never have the balls to do, turning it into a series that can hold its own compared to the FIM universe. Littered with brilliant ideas and outstanding character development. Particular favorite scene is Sunset's reaction to ascending.

We'll likely add stories to this, but the additions will likely be few and far between, as despite there being many a good story here, there are few that have the level of imagination that impresses me enough to add them.

You mean the whole “Crabapples” comment, don’t you? :rainbowlaugh:

When Sunset realized she had wings, there was an immediate “ah, sh*t” moment.

Ah yes, that was a particularly great moment, but the whole series has been an enjoyable demonstration of what EQG could be.
