As for next week... well, now that we're done eventing, we can bring back our monthly tradition of leaving that up to you. As before, I'll provide an excerpt from each potential story, and you'll vote based on whether you think the story in question will be good riff material. The poll is here, but the full excerpts are thus.
Excerpt 1, fic length 11K words:
PRINCESS HEART Walks into Ponyville and she started looking for Twilight Sparkle. "Hmm...In case I need backup, I should have PSYCHO PIE and SPECTRUM DASH on standby in case something happens. And I know ALICOR is always with me, being the Alicorn spirit of love and love itself. DEATH'S even ready to help if needed, especially in cases like these." Said HEART as she contemplates her options in case things go awry as she heads to the library and knocks on the door.
*Knock Knock* "Hello?" says Twilight as she opens it with a crying Applejack nearby.
PRINCESS HEART then heads inside undisguised being unable to even change for some reason that she hasn't realized yet. Since birth she's been unable shapeshift, a basic ability changeling are born with and taught how to use. Whether a disability or someone screwing around with her life for diabolically evil kicks is unknown even to her or her mother the queen of Hive Chrysalis. "Hello there." Said HEART smiling with 2 fangs showings showing as she greets them. The body of Granny Smith lies on the ground with a horrible look of fear and disgust on it's face and Applejack and Applebloom jump from PRINCESS HEART'S surprise appearance.
PRINCESS HEART'S smile doesn't falter dispite their reaction understanding why they have this reaction as she looks looks at the body with sadness on her face. "How sad, she died with fear on her face it seems...." *"Applebloom...instead of the enemy. The Real Granny Smith never got to met her grandchildren because of her."* Thought PRINCESS HEART as she looks over the body and mentally her notes on the tragedy.
Excerpt 2, fic length 13K words:
Elsewhere, the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle, is in the library reading some books. But it was all cut short as she heard a thunderous loud noise outside her castle. “What in Celestia’s name was that sound I heard?” She shouted, worried that something happened somewhere in Ponville. Twilight soon dashed out of her castle and out onto the balcony only to see a beam of fire erupting in the distance. “Oh no, something must’ve happened in the Everfree Forest!” Fearing the worst, she sprinted towards where the fire had slowly disappeared. “Oh I hope nothing bad has ha-“ but before she could finish her sentence, she lets out a gasp of shock and terror. She sees a group of Princess Celestia’s royal guards carrying a young stallion with white fur, red mane, and scars under his eyes and was covered in scratches and bite marks, and he was in quite the bloody mess.“What happened to him? How'd he get hurt?” she asked, concerned for the stallion’s life.
“Do not get close to him, Princess. He’s dangerous!” says one of the guards.
"Dangerous?! He's injured and probably close to dying and yet you say he's dangerous?!" She shouts at the guard. Soon the injured stallion looked up at Twilight and spoke.
“Best if you didn’t see me. Especially in this condition, young lady. Besides, nothing's gonna get through these guys' heads.” He says in a low grunt.
"W-Wait, I..." she paused in shock. But then she shook her head with a serious look on her face. "I have to inform Princess Celestia about this whole situation! There's no way I'll let that stallion suffer!" She says to herself as she dashes off back to her castle."SPIKE!" she shouts, making Spike jump up shouting in fear.
"Twilight will you stop startling me like that? You almost made me spill my precious jeweled cake batter." He says looking at Twilight with a mild glare.
"No time for small talk, Spike. I need you to write a note to Princess Celestia! This is an emergency!" She demanded.
Excerpt 3, fic length 15K words:
When she opend the door she saw a unfamiliar pony that was a male alicorn, he was yellow with a black tail and mane that have the same style as each other, he wears a black vest and green sweat bands, and was tall and thin all around, while his cutie mark was a grey thunder cloud that has a bright yellow lightning bolt coming out. Twilight was in awe when she saw this new face and she was speach less for a second and said"hi! are you new here in ponyville." "Yes I am new my names Lightning Storm, and you must be princess Twilight Sparkle am i right?" said the new pony. 'Oh my stars a new pony from a differint city in equestria knows who I am! Other than Canterlot and Ponyville that is.' Twilight said to her self a little shocked. "Yes it is but you can call me Twilight if you want, thats what everyone else call me." "ok twilight, so can you show me around?" Said Yellow Lightning. "Oh of course i can show you around." said Twilight.
when she showed Lightning Storm the places in Ponyville Twilights friends have been seeing her with him and they were wondering 'who is that pony with Twilight?' they went up to them and Pinkie Pie asked Twilight"Hey Twilight who's this?" " Hey girls this is Yellow Lightning he's new here in Ponyville." said Twilight surprised to see her friends. "So how's everypony?" "Well I just finished harvesting the apples." said Applejack. "i finished this wonderful dress." replied Rairity. "I finished taking care of my animals." responded Fluttershy. "I was wraping up my training for the big race in Equestria, while Pinkie Pie was just being herself." answered Rainbow Dash for both her and Pinkie Pie. "Yeah she's right about me being me." added Pinkie Pie.
Excerpt 4, fic length 15K words:
"Heard that like... billion times already, Adagio!"Said Aria
"What do you expectfrom me, Aria? It's not like that-"Said Adagio and then she suddenly sees the massive rainbow light in the sky. She's quickly rush out to see it with
her friends. As she's looking at it, she suddenly feels the same thing that she never felt for a long time, the Equestrian magic! Soon, her comrades, Aria and Sonata,
also feel the same power as well. "It seems... the tides had changed! Come on, girls! We're moving out now."Said Adagio and she's walk out toward to the massive rainbow light.
"To where?"Asked Sonata
"THAT!"Said Adagio as she's point to the massive rainbow light from the other side of town.
"I just got a new plan on how to recreate the Spanish Empire!"Said Adagio
Meanwhile, in the Outer Space, faraway from the Earth, many planets are dividing apart by the war called Galactic War, because the original galactic government,
the Imperial Union, became corrupted and is now a tyrannic government. Thos who managed to separated themselves in time formed their own government called
the Confederacy of United Systems while the pirates, smugglers, bounty hunters and slave traders are also seize this opportunity and formed their own criminal government
in form of Crowned Republic of Nomads. The three galactic governments wage war against one another to gain control of the entire galaxy.
The choice is yours.
