Another year, another story (part deux)

I’m finally finding some more time to write. I was inspired to finish writing this story by Bicyclette’s Sci-fi Contest III, but missed the deadline by 40 minutes (as they say, read the fine print!)

By the way, I began writing this story almost a year ago based on some real life events that many of us share ever since COVID changed how the world meets. I hope you enjoy it!

    Another year, another story

It’s probably not the best thing that I need the motivation of a group activity (Jinglemass) and a multiple-day-off holiday to get me writing again. But this is where I am, and that’s how it is. I Hope you’ve all had a great holiday season so far, and best wishes for a safe, healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

Another year in which the politics of fear, anger and division continued its onslaught on common decency and civilized behavior in political discourse, as well as its attack on the very foundations of democracy and the institutions that protect us all from charlatans, demagogues and the ugly, slippery slope that leads to fascism, and worse.

Manking Triumphant - Relic - Chapter 8: Secrets and Sins · 2:15am Oct 10th, 2012

You are only truly helpless if you think you are.

In this chapter Victoria gets a chance to finally do something to get back at those who had her ponified and stole her daughter. In the process she surprises both herself and Princess Celestia. But even in the midst of this hidden victory, all is not as it seems. As usual, the world resists easy categorization into either black or white, good or evil.

Celestia also learns an important clue about just how she was imprisoned, and that maybe she isn't as much of a prisoner as she thought she was.

Please let me know what you think, what rocked and what crocked.
