Seems like my very quick release of a story I definitely didn't plan on releasing went pretty well.
I mean I've been sitting on that idea for like five months? But yeah seems like I tend to use Pinkie as a way to show some kind of serious tone in a funny way. s
As in the last time I used Pinkie in one of these short little blob stories I tend to write that one was kind of more focused on the aftermath of the Cake Twins being born. I don't know if that means this is some one off weird sequel since that'd be hilariously weird.
But yeah, seems like whenever I bring out a short story I have an ending planned out and to the point.
Why do I tend to use Pinkie? I guess it's that interplay between naive and caring Pinkie and that inner self Pinkamena that doesn't come out much. I mean I still think Party of One made me truly like Pinkie and after that point, I thought she'd be a good character to use since in my head I see her as this character that does care enough about other ponies that maybe she goes a bit overboard on the cake ideas since I try to make her cakes sound kind of on the cusp of being a terrible idea. Gumdrops and chocolate do not mix well. But that's kind of the point.
Pinkie cares enough to use some kind of leftovers or something out there to draw people into the store just by existing. That cake sounds awful but I'd think ponies would look at that and be confused how those fit together in a cake.
I guess that's what I think about her at least. Especially since combining the jokier aspects of Pinkie's and yet having that inner life that would be sen by very few. I don't know maybe this is just the author reading his own view into a character, but seeing a few Pinkie focused episodes- she's just using comedy to make other people's days a little bit brighter and having her interact with Spoiled Rich, which even in canon was a terrible pony, would probably break that facade of hunky dory nice that ponies are used to.
And seeing how Pinkie seems to know what is going on in canon- even confusing Twilight in how Pinkie works, I took that as Pinkie is actually really smart and special magic powers or something. But the thing is its like obfuscating stupidity. Ponies don't get Pinkie because she acts weird or off putting.
Maybe that's just how she acts. She's really loyal to her friends and family and has her own sense of good. She also has possible depression or for those who really want to take Party of One really sad, schizophrenia or something akin to that.
I don't even want to touch that because that seems too edgy so I tend to write her more like a pony who has depressive moments but knows how to care for ponies and actually pays attention to what people say. She doesn't like actual confrontation, but enjoys harmless pranks to bring joy. Her Element is Laughter anyway. Probably cause she knows what sad feels like.
I guess I use Pinkie because it just feels right to use her, she draws you in with humor and then drops strange truth bombs.

Found it by typing in google "Peridot Magneto" into Google. And of course it existed as a picture cause people are awesome.
Wish I could draw but I can't get past badly drawn stick figures or abstract expressionist paintings. So yeah it is definitely not my work.
