News on Saving the Siren · 8:14pm Jul 8th, 2017
Hello, brothers and sisters. I am Madness and welcome to my kingdom.
Alright, readers, I know what you're thinking: Why the hay hasn't Saving the Siren been updated?! And I'm sorry about that. It's been about a month since I released the previous chapter and I've left you all in a cliffhanger. Things have been so crazy around here that I haven't been able to concentrate on the story.
On top of that, I've decided to go through the story and spruce it up. Sooo, yeah. It's gonna be a bit before I finally update the story.
Anyway, in the meantime, I have other stories you can check out if you haven't already; about half of them being in the EQG world. But that's not good enough, is it? So, I'll also be taking questions regarding the story. I won't spoil anything that hasn't been released, but I will answer each question as well as I can.
But you still want to see the next chapter, right? Okay then, you self-entitled loons (Just kidding ). Here's a little taste of the next chapter:
Rarity took deep breaths as she processed the situation at hand. "Alright, Rarity, keep calm. One must have a level head when dealing with mind-controlling psychopaths." She sucked in one last deep breath and let it out. "Alright, let's review what we have. That was undoubtedly Adagio who I ran into and she obviously is the one causing all this madness. But how?"
Rarity remembered back to when she bumped into Adagio. Thanks to her eye for detail, she was able to distinctly recall what Adagio was wearing aside from that dress. Namely... "The crystals!" Rarity realized. "That explains everything... But how did she get them?"
As she recalled, Sunset had texted her to drop off her crystal behind a vending machine because of... Then it hit Rarity what had happened. "Why that manipulative, unfettered genius! Wait a minute," Rarity gasped. "On, no. What did that ruffian do to Sunset?!" Realizing that she didn't want to think about it, she slapped herself. "No, no. Don't think about that, Rarity. You have to-" Rarity shut up when she heard the door open.
"Anyone in here?!" An angry voice called out as someone stepped into the room.
Judging from the voice and the heavy footsteps, Rarity instantly deduced that it was Bulk Biceps. Knowing that the large boy could easily break her in half, and that he most definitely would due to Adagio's mind-control, Rarity kept quiet and prayed that he would leave.
However, Bulk had different ideas. He crouched down and looked under the student desks. Seeing that no one was hiding under there, he angrily flipped over two of the desks, sending them across the room. He went to the other side of the room and noticed a large cabinet. He walked over and tried to open it, but found it was locked. He responded by lifting it over his head and throwing it at the desks. It was then that he noticed the teacher's desk. Figuring it was the only other place that someone could hide in the room, Bulk walked over lifted the desk over his head... only to find no one was under there either.Meanwhile, Rarity had been pressing her hands and feet against the sides of the desk, keeping herself off the ground. She struggled to remain in said position as Bulk unknowingly lifted her up.
With a grunt, Bulk slammed the desk back on the ground, sending Rarity to the ground as well. Luckily, he didn't hear her moan in pain. Deciding no one was there, Bulk left the room to search someplace else.
Rarity clenched her teeth as she waited for Bulk to leave. Once she was sure no one could hear her, Rarity let out a groan. She slowly pushed herself up and leaned against the side of the enclosed space. She panted for a while, both out of pain and fear. "... The nerve of some people." She took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "...Okay. Now that that is over with... I should call the others." She decided as she reached into her pocket and brought out her cell phone. First, she tried to call Sunset.
No response.
"Oh dear... Please let her be okay." Next, she tried calling Fluttershy.
There's a little taste of what's to come. Don't worry, my friends, I'll get the story back on the road soon enough.
Aaaand that's all for now. God bless you, bye bye.
Again, what's disrupting your concentration?

...Something? ...Nothing? ...I don't know.
4595923
An unsolved mystery as Robert Stack would say.
Questions: How did Sonata survive in the streets as long as she did? And what was Adagio doing this whole time before she turned completely psycho?
4596209
To the first question: Sonata survived basically in the way Sunset finds her. Hiding in backways and alleyways, eating out of trash cans, trying to make sure no one recognizes her... Yeah, it was a tough couple of months to say the least.
To the second question: Adagio was stalking the Human 7, which is how she immediately found out about them taking Sonata in. I'm going to elaborate on that while I spruce up the story.
And finally, how in all that is holy, did Aria get into Crystal Prep? I would think that there security and screening of students would be better than Canterlot High's.
4596248
Apparently not. Aria just went in like Sunset did In CHS. She probably was there the same time as Twilight and got out of going to The Friendship Games now that I think about it.
What have been your favorite and least favorite parts of the story to write so far?
4596400
Hmm, let's see...... Well, I have two parts of the story I consider my favorite.
The first one is in Chapter 8 when Adagio snaps and attacks Sonata and later Aria. That scene was a big deal for me because I wanted everyone to be completely against Adagio in this story. I wanted people to hate her and hammer home that, in this story, she's a psychotic monster and that scene, when she nearly kills the two people closest to her without any remorse, is what shows it.
The second one is the chess scene with Sci-Twi (Why is she called that?) and Sonata, mainly because it's something I'm very proud of. I did my best to make it perfect and it has received the most praise of any scene in the story. Plus it's the moment where Sonata truly realizes who her friends really are to her.
As for my least favorite part...... Well, I don't know.

Adagio’s still my favorite, so I’m not quite sure that scene did what you wanted it to
Are there other sirens in your imagining? The first chapter mentions them hatching from eggs, which may imply that they had parents of some sort, but I don’t think there’s been any confirmation or denial of kindred in the story
Sort of tangentially story-related, have you read many other sirens stories? If so, do you have a favorite?
4596693
Well, as long as you're still rooting against her...
And it was mentioned in Chapter 6 that when sirens lay their eggs, they leave before they hatch and leave them to fend for themselves with their siblings. Are there sirens in Equestria now? I don't know.
Not many, but a few. My favorite is Code Blue by Summer Dancer.
