HamGravy

Author of the Tarnished Silver series. I write clopfics with too many emotions in them. My work is very niche, but my readers are a wonderfully enthusiastic bunch, so I must be doing something right?

    Suddenly!

    ...anyone still here?

Hi, everybody. I doubt anyone else has even noticed, nor would I expect them to, but ten years ago today, I uploaded a weird little clop story called Tarnished Silver to this site.

Tarnished Silver: The Audiobook (Plus: foreign language editions, and a teaser for something new!)

FACT: In our busy modern world of smartphones and red pandas, few of us have time to sit down and read books, let alone morally questionable horse fanfiction. Thus we have seen the meteoric rise of the audiobook, which allows people to take in a story while doing something else, like flying a jet between two narrow canyons under heavy enemy fire, or jogging. But until now, there's been no

    "Baby Steps"

Those two words in yesterday's episode managed to completely redefine the episode, and possibly the character of Fluttershy, for me. I think they might be the two most important words she's ever spoken. Here's why.

A new story is coming tomorrow!

Why yes, I am a shameless whore , thank you for noticing.

Tomorrow afternoon (that's Friday CST, people of the world) the internet will be forced to endure another entry in the Tarnished Silver canon. It's a one-shot, but I'm actually quite pleased with it, which is something I don't usually say about my own writing.

My next story · 5:03am Oct 8th, 2012

Well, here we are. Twisted is finally complete after almost four months.

I want to thank everyone who stuck by this morally questionable little tale until the end. Your comments and support have been invaluable, and in many cases, really uplifting and fun!

But, of course, this isn't where the story ends, just where it takes a break for a little while.

The next, and final, story in the series will be called A Silver Sky: Four Little Ponies. Right now I'm not sure how long it will be, but its length will probably be about the same as Twisted.

The first chapter will drop on Monday, October 22nd, two weeks from this posting. I'm sticking to the weekly Monday release schedule for this one as well: I was hoping to update more often, but developments in my life have made that pretty much impossible. Hope you all understand.

Thanks again for sticking with me these last few months. I couldn't have done it without you guys. You sick pervs.

Feel free to throw any additional questions you may have into the comments.

PS: I was so fucking tempted to call the new story Sterling Silver. You don't even know.

Awesome man. Thank you for all that you do!

I can't wait for the next final arc to begin! As a suspense/horror fan it feels as if you are writing this story for me and only the best of authors can make one feel that way.

Excellent. I really think this whole series deserves more fame. The subject matter holds it back, but it what makes it so great. It's a horrible twisted story, well written and compelling. Horse Voice once posted a blog post about where is the The Great Equestrian Novel. I would consider this series to be one of the contenders.

Aw, shucks. I think I was mostly writing for myself, but with the hope that others would enjoy themselves, too. Glad to see our tastes line up!

That's the conundrum, I suppose. Something with this kind of content is never going to achieve the sort of popularity of a Past Sins or Fallout Equestria, but I never expected nor sought that level of attention. I didn't write it expecting any sort of reaction, I just wrote it because the idea interested me, and above all else because I wanted to improve my writing. That said, the fact that there's been this much positive response to my stuff is absolutely amazing to me, and I'm thrilled. At the risk of sounding egotistical, having a "cult" following is perfect for me, because I can write what I want and know that my readers aren't going to be offended by it. I'd hate to have to wade through a dozen angry PM's every time I log on.

My goodness, that is kind of you to say. Thank you! I hope you feel the same way when the "novel" is complete.

You're doing god's work, kid. Well, sort of. In a twisted sort of way, as it were. Either way, you have me utterly enthralled. A dubious honor, but an honor nonetheless. I did not expect this at all in the beginning. I suppose I came for the Rarity and the Spoony, but I stayed for the rape and sexual slavery. Honestly, the only elements that could improve this for me would be time travel or some sort of rampant AI construct, but I can understand why something like that would be difficult to weave into the narrative (I do not begrudge you the attempt, however).

Isn't it frightening when you lift up a rock and a bunch of insects go scurrying out from under it? Always surprising no matter how much you expect it, no? I doubt I would have had the stomach to lift this rock.
