"You're not a burden, my love" Simon comforted his partner, Prince Lucian. "You're all 7,634,420,069,142,002,387,487,862,912 stars in my sky, Luce. And I love how brightly you shine"

Simon's Exodus: Part 6 · 9:32pm Jun 29th, 2017

Part 6 of 7, so this is what I'd call a "pre-finale" if I had to give it a special name. This is in the second performance of "Illusions" but the dialogue from the play is NOT the main focus, so you'll only get to know parts of it. Sorry. Like I said, if enough people (with high enough levels, I'd say 3 people of level 5 or higher) ask me, I'll write "Illusions" as its own story on Wattpad. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this pre-finale.

As Theodore was performing the second showing of Illusions, I thanked the stars that I wasn't cast in it again. This will give me more time to get to know Eveline. I thought to myself, smiling at the beauty of her name. And maybe I could set Theodore up with Lana after the play... if he didn't do it himself with what was my idea in the first place. I'm sure he would be happy with her if he could just take my advice and fall for her... but if I know anything about love, it's that you follow your heart, not someone else's.

I thusly decided to speak to Lana about Theodore. I waited until the intermission, and then asked her "What do you think of Brother Dore? Isn't he the best guy you know?"

"Eh... he's OK, I guess." Lana replied. "Why? Are you jealous of him?"

"Me?" I asked. "Jealous of him? Actually... yes. Everyone loves him, and all I have is him and you. Remember the first time we did the play? When I was one of the choir members?"

"Of course, Simon." Lana replied. "Your brother kissed me awake... after talking some nonsense about Dreamwalking. I mean... I know it's a real phenomenon, but he was going overboard with the science of something that was clearly meant to be explained with magic... and magic requires only a few simple words." Lana gave a confused smile, as if reminiscing happily and wondering what could have been... but how she truly felt about that memory remains a mystery to this day.

"Well that's not why I mentioned the play." I replied. "I mentioned it because there was a princess in the audience... and her name was Eveline Delebleux."

"The daughter of the Starlight King, who drank himself to death trying to become immortal?" Lana asked. "THAT princess?"

"The very same." I answered, nodding. "She spoke nothing but French to me, and I understood every word. She also understood every word that I said to her. She invited me over to her palace for her coronation gala, which is at the end of the summer. And I said I wouldn't miss it for anything. I didn't want to hurt you, so I kept it secret... but then I realized that you had to know. I even told Brother Dore to cast himself as Dragonheart instead of me to keep you away from me... I'm such a fool."

"Of course you are." Lana agreed. "Love is for fools... I should know better than anyone. I mean... I put you on a pedestal because you were my first friend, and I thought you were this perfect prince... but now I see that I was wrong: There's no such thing as a perfect prince, or any perfect person for that matter. It took me some time and some words, but I finally realized that I was in love with the wrong person. I don't know if I'll ever feel that way again about another living creature."

"You will." I assured her. "Trust me... if I can't be your prince, I can help you find him."

"I think you already have." Lana replied, smiling at me. "Well, Brother Si.... the play's about to resume. I'll talk to you later. Good luck with Eveline!"

"Thank you. And I know what you meant by 'I think you already have'... and I believe you're right. Brother Dore is your prince... now get back on stage and make him proud... again!"

And so Lana and I went our separate ways... me going away from the stage and her getting back on it. We both smiled as we parted ways, for each of us had made the other one feel better. I looked up to the stage and saw a scene that wasn't in the play's script, but one I had hoped to see anyway. Moonflower, after waking up and defeating Duplicati and Shadestar alongside Dragonheart, hugged her prince and then whispered something into his ear.

They're not ready for kissing yet... I told myself. not offstage anyway. I added, remembering that in the play they were already together. I looked at them closer and saw starlight in Theodore's eyes, a sign of love and longing. I smiled and thought to myself. They'll get there in time.

And that was the pre-finale. Tune in next time for the GRAND FINALE!!!!! I'm not gonna say anything about it now except that Simon actually DOES go to the gala. Anything else would be a spoiler.

Thanks! I feel like I've been neglecting to give Star Points to my friends who aren't Lucky, so here... after I finish part 7 of Simon's Exodus I'll give 11 Star Points to whoever commented on it PER part they commented on... as long as the comment is a genuine comment (no "hi" because that's just too easy) and it gets posted before my birthday. (July 12th) That's 77 for anyone who reads the whole thing and comments on each part... but you can only get the Star Points ONCE. (So that there's no spamming or cheating)
