So get this. Just re watched rainbow rocks right and I was thinking how it was oddly familiar, it reminded me of a story I wrote back in 2011 on a different site. So I progress through the movie which lets be honest here, it was ok but needed a lot of work done. I admit it's for the target audience of little kids. But seriously.

So basically my story back in 2011 was basically an anonymous character comes through and forms a band basically like applejack on bass Rainbow Dash is on guitar flutter shies back up vocals rarity on the keyboard, the anonymous character is lead guitar and pinkie pie is on drums, the story is mostly about how this band got their start and is now touring the humanized world of Equestria. So hasbro and the creators of the EqG franchise kinda took my story and dumbed it down then added creative direction to it.
