Miss Koi Reviews "Hard to Say Anything"

Guys,...guys...this episode...is...important :D

(Literally, Sugar Belle's face here is my face after watching this episode)
The reason why this episode is important is because of the following reasons: 1) the show went through the process of creating and establishing a romance between two established characters (true secondary characters, but characters nonetheless), outside of what we've seen with Cranky x Maltida and Shining Armor and Cadence and even Mr & Mrs Cake, AKA the show actually did some legit shipping (at least in my opinion, but we'll talk more about that):D; 2) and through this shipping, the writer and the show isn't afraid to create and go forth with their own ship no matter and despite what the fandom thinks (before we go forward, let us mourn all the ships that have sunk like CheerileeMac, FlutterMac, MarbleMac, any Ship relating to Big Mac ever,PartyBelle/SugarFavor AKA Sugar Belle x Party Favor, and any other ship involving Sugar Belle);

3) Through this new romance, the show was still able to create a great moral about romance that is easily understood by children and has something for even adults to learn from; 4) Through this new romance and moral, the show is still keeping in their usual tone and didn't have to change who they are as a show in order to journey forth into this new territory; and 5) through this new romance and episode, this brings a new future to the show of taking more new chances like establishing romance with, not only for more secondary characters, but possibly our main cast;) In other words, giving more hope and new light and fighting chance for upcoming episodes ahead and for our favorite little ship on this page;) This will be expanded on later:)

Fluttercord Discussion Hard to Say Anything

That's why I overall give this episode 9 hearts out of 10<3 But my review doesn't end there you know;) You need reasons and analysis after all;)
Let's talk about our main couple of the hour: SugarMac aka Sugar Belle x Big Mac. (I could use BigBelle, but well...I personally don't think it's an approriate ship name for them cause well...0-0 Let's just say BigBelle might have some other meanings if you catch my drift in this context 0-0)

In case if you're wondering, yes:) Yes I do ship these two;) <3 What did you expect you guys? I'm a shameless shipper, I always go for the ones that the fandom is not in favor for;) LolXD The reason why I ship these two is well: 1) I think they're a great (what I like to call) "that sweet couple" troupe. (They have a lot of similarities to keep them harmonious together, and agreeable, making them less argumentative with one another. Yet, at the same time, they have some differences to keep their romance refreshing and new and fun and cute. They kinda remind me of Takeo and Yamato from My Love Story, with some differences obviously. By the way, I highly recommend this show, it's adorable:3):

2) these two have had time to get to know each other (true it is mostly explained to us and implied. I can see why people wouldn't ship this because it seems out of the blue and sudden, but when you think about it in terms of when Applejack made this trade agreement with Sugar Belle probably in Season 5 or Season 6 or so, it seems like Big Mac might have been delivering Apples to her for a while. And as he got to know her, and as Sugar Belle got to know him, they then made the deliveries more often and we are now at a point where it's become more frequent and obvious. So, I like to think of it that way.); and 3) it may seem like these two only like each other for their looks, given the context of their seemingly out of blue attraction, but in actuality, these two like each other for more substantial reasons. As Big Mac stated in the episode, he likes her because she's kind, hard working, and sweet. But I can also imagine that he likes her for her humbleness, her down earth nature, her enthusiasm for her passion, and her assertiveness that's almost similar to his own sisters' assertiveness;) As for Sugar Belle, I like to think she likes him for his gentleness, kindness, his gentlecolt manner, his hard working nature, how good of a listener he is, and his adorable social awkardness;)

(Oh my gosh, this is soooo cuteXD! I need Fluttershy and Discord to do this!XD Badly!XD And kiss, don't forget kiss;) Lol!)
I also like the potential for new stories to come out of this couple and how their relationship can grow (I mean they just nuzzle, not kiss, so to me this shows that this couple can grow), that is if the show continues to use this couple which I like to think they would based on the fact that they had Cranky and Maltida develop their own one off relationship by getting married in "Slice of Life" for Pete's Sake and they gave a baby for Shining Armor and Cadence to take care of:)

I like the episode idea, by Drwolf and Silver Quill, of when Big Mac and Sugar Belle develop their relationship a bit more (and I mean alot more), of Big Mac moving in with Sugar Belle. I still think Big Mac can be an occurring character in the show despite this scenario because the show still has the audience visit in every now and then Starlight's village (seriously, this village needs a name by now:0! Seriously!:0). Especially if we have our new mane cast member Starlight visits the village and has some friendship lessons there and such:) But maybe before this kind of episode, I propose a episode where Big Mac introduces Sugar Belle to the Apple Family. I have a feeling that, like Apple Bloom, Applejack doesn't know that Big Mac likes likes Sugar Belle;) I have a feeling that Applejack's perspective on Sugar Belle would change once she knows this fact;) I'm not saying that Applejack is now going to hate Sugar Belle. I'm saying that Applejack will become conflicted and awkward in this situation cause she wouldn't know what to feel about Sugar Belle. On one hoof, Sugar Belle is her friend. But on the other, Applejack feels protective over Big Mac cause he's never really had a serious girlfriend before. Heck, I can see Applejack seeing some of herself in Sugar Belle. Thus, making her situation understandable and relatable and overall a really good potential episode:D

Now, the reason why I think this episode can be big when it comes to craving the way towards Mane Six shipping and more importantly Fluttercord because this episode and it's writer was brave to do what we thought was impossible for a long time: MLP is tackling romance. It was brave enough to have a well crafted moral on romance without straying away from their usual tone. It was brave enough to tackle the difficult task of creating a ship and making them an official canon couple. It was brave enough to smash fandom couples in order to follow through on their own couple. If the show is brave enough to do that, who's to say that Mane Six shipping is not possible?:D Who's to say now that Fluttercord is not possible, or even have a fighting chance?:D In the Fluttercord Discussion link provided above, I can see why some of my fellow shippers may have their doubts and I can understand that. Believe me. Even I, having Fluttercord as my OTP, have a hard time believing that the show would do it someday. But as I think about how many episodes are dedicated to Fluttershy and Discord, and how this episode used two established characters with some form of previously established interactions beforehand (by the way I would love love a fanfic discussing how Big Mac and Sugar Belle and how they formed their bond before this episode occured:D), I can't help but think well, maybe not in this season, but in some season someday...It could happen...<3 Despite all odds and doubts<3

If I had to nitpick about this episode, I was going to at first about our stylish new sensation Feather Bangs (who to me looks like Mandopony rather than Justin BieberXD):

But then, once this episode gave it's new little plot twist at the end of him actually being a nice shy guy who can't actually talk to girls and actually cared about Sugar Belle, Feather Bangs was cool in my book BD But the episode kinda ruined his ending by making him flirt with three mares 0-0 (and yes I did notice the Beauty and Beast reference with Feather Bangs as Gaston and the three mares as Gaston's Bimbettes;)) Hasbro, I thinking you're cutting it close with that risky reference there 0-0 Just sayin 0-0

Also that scene with Big Mac trying to kiss Sugar Belle in her sleep 0-0 Again, Hasbro...cutting it close there with the cringy kinda risky humor there 0-0

Anyway, if any of you like shipping and well done cringe humor (or just tolerate cringe humor like in Parental Glideance) and the CMC and Big Mac, then you'll like this episode like I did:) <3
