Miss Koi Reviews "Parental Glideance" · 2:07am May 22nd, 2017

Well folks, the moral and the family feels of the season got to me again and it made me laugh and fangirl like Rainbow Dash’s parents and Scootaloo XD

This episode is definitely funnier than the last one, sure cringey a couple of times (even though I think the slightly cringey humor by the parents makes this episode a bit more reletable and real and helps the episode, but if it's not your thing, then this episode may not be for you), but overall super hilarious and fun:)

Let’s start with the topic that’s one every pony’s mind after, and even before this episode premiered: Rainbow Dash’s Parents Windy Whistle and Bo Hothoof (is that Rainbow’s Dad’s name? Let me know.)

I had high expectations for these two coming in and boy, they didn’t disappoint when it came to comedy, heart, and just overall character and personality:) Especially Rainbow’s Mom Windy Whistle ^^

I don’t know if it was because she was on the swim team or that she was the reason why Rainbow Dash has a squeaky voice but I just found her to be absolutely adorable XD! Haha lol MLP has a way when comes to fun, enjoyable families and these two are on my favorites list along with Fluttershy’s family and Pinkie Pie’s family <3 *gasp* OMG, I would just love an episode where Fluttershy’s family meets Rainbow Dash’s family:D! Maybe even find out that Fluttershy's mom and Windy Whistle knew each other in flight school and are actually long time friends?!:D

I think the inclusion of Scootaloo, not only made the episode's message and humor extraordinary, but she also added that extra amount of heart <3 (and Rainbow Dash's parents added the heart as well)

Her presence also added an unexpected element to occur in the episode and gives light to a theory that I just past off as fan conspiracy: the topic of Scootaloo being an orphan.

Does this episode imply that Scootaloo has no family or lack of intimate family to encourage her and be at her best? I think two options are both equally possible based on the way Scootaloo explained her situation subtly. (Keep in mind, Scootaloo never actually stated what her situation was, only that she lacked any support to build confidence in her own abilities). But the real question is whether the show writers will actually follow through and provide us with the answer we need in a future episode someday. I like to say "yes" because, for those who have read all the leaked synponsises for the future episode this season, this season will be providing an answer for a question as old as the Scootaloo conspiracy;) Anyway, I loved how Scootaloo kinda got adopted by the Dash family by the end of the episode :3 <3

The reason why I really enjoyed the message and the moral so much because 1) it explains the origins and characterization of Rainbow Dash so simply so well <3, 2) it's such a unique message that doesn't happen too often and needs to be told more often, and 3) I like to think it speaks especially true for my situation cause I wouldn't be the confident person I am if I didn't have parents who always supported in me, believed in me, and always told me that I could do anything (don't worry folks, they weren't TOO SUPPORTIVE like Rainbow Dash's parents were in this episode lolXD Oh boy, I hope her parents learned how to less supportive of their daughter in the futureXD)

Overall, I give this episode 9 heart out of 10 <3
