Finally watched Legend of Everfree and have come to the conclusion that the Humane Five are mentally regressed. I don't mean that as an offense to people with clinically diagnosed mental retardation, but the Humane Five have something wrong with their brains.
You would think they would have learned from Sunset Shimmer's depression in Rainbow Rocks. Nope. Instead, they fall right back to the old habit of reminding someone of the bad things they did and trouble they caused.
Is anyone going to remind Applejack that she straight up stopped talking to Rainbow Dash over a single misunderstanding? Is anyone going to point out relentlessly that it was mainly Rainbow Dash's fault the band fell into arguments during the Battle of the Bands? Is ANYONE going to say anything about the fact that Fluttershy completely misinterpreted Pinkie Pie's entire personality and expected her to show up to a sad event knowing that Pinkie's entire existence depends on making people smile?
Of course not. But hey! Let's keep reminding the two people who are trying the hardest to make things better for themselves that one turned into a raging she-demon and the other into a power-hungry apocalyptic. And we're going to ignore that one was depressed and probably some measure of suicidal while the other has panic attacks and contemplated leaving without a goodbye.
That's the best way to make your friends resent you! Ugh, I just want a short of Sunset and Sci-Twi griping over the bullshit they have to put up with because they got consumed by magic one time.
There's a lovely line in an episode of House where a prisoner on Death Row asks someone to imagine having their entire lives defined by the worst thing they've ever done, the few seconds of their existence at which they were at their lowest. On the one hand, if you've forgiven someone and you're trying to move on, it's probably in nobody's interest that you keep mentioning it. On the other, when you try to take over or destroy the world, it's quite understandable that people might not let you forget it quite away. Also rather funny
4524732 I can understand that. Especially considering Sunset made their lives hell for three years, but Twilight? That's just cruel. Poor girl was having panic attacks in the middle of the woods (they wouldn't know that, of course), so you'd think they would have learned from how down Sunset got every time they mentioned it. And Sci-Twi is nowhere near as sassy or confident as Sunset. Sunset had the benefit of being an arrogant jerk before she was shown "the magic of friendship!", but Sci-Twi was already an antisocial nervous wreck when they met her. Cut the poor woman some slack, y'all.
I'm much less angry about it now that I've written about it, the blog post was me just finishing Legend of Everfree, so the emotions were still high. Now I'm just sad for poor Twilight throughout the movie... kind of like how I felt for Sunset in Rainbow Rocks, to be honest. Lol, the only difference is that I already sympathized with Sci-Twi before she turned into an apocalyptic.
