The Devil Flash Update: The Haters Will Not Win This Time · 7:11pm Apr 18th, 2017
Joker here. Well, so far my new project, The Devil Flash, has been doing... okay at the moment. It's got 4 favs and 4 follows. Unfortunately, though, it's gotten some not-so-nice reviews from guests. Naturally, I have disposed of these attacks via guest review moderation. While I understand that removing reviews and comments is frowned upon, I will not stand for these attacks. I will not allow these assholes to drive away people who may actually like the project. In short, one thing I cannot stand is naysaying. So, as a believer in the Thumpertonian Principal, I will delete any and all negative reviews. What is Thumpertonian Principal, you ask? In it's simplest form:
So, it'll be full steam ahead for me and my Arrowverse AU project. If you haven't read The Devil Flash yet, here's the link. Let's see if we can't get some positivity going there.
I haven't read your story, nor do I know about what your reviews are like but I've heard a lot about you. That Thumpertonian principal isn't good to have for a writer. An echo chamber isn't good if you want to make better stories. Negative criticism may seem like a slap in the face but it's a good reminder that:
And none of us are. It has to happen this way as the criticism forces us to look at our work in a different way. Think of the criticism like a necessary evil. Or like Nanny McPhee. Where it's not something everyone necessarily wants, but everyone definitely needs.
Because, when we look at our own work, we're inevitably biased.
Once again, I don't know who said what on your story, but if they were really reviews, then they were made to help you get better, not troll you. Of course, there's the saying that people will judge you no matter what you do but it's also good to take what people say in mind, so you have a second opinion instead of, like I said, an echo chamber.
This is not intended to troll or attack you, but to help you, Joker. And I hope it did.
