In some species, animals have two different coats of fur, depending on the time of year. Between seasons, they shed their old coat and grow a newer one, which may be thicker or thinner depending on the upcoming season.
The outermost layers of our skin and hair--the layers that we actually see, aren't actually living. They're actually buildups of dead cells and cell fragments, which the body uses as it's first line of defense against pathogens.
Both fingernails and hair are both made of the protein Keratin.
"Innie" and "Outie" belly buttons aren't determined by where the umbilical cord is cut. They're determined by the point at which tissue atrophies and shrivels, which may partially be influenced by cord cutting, but isn't entirely.
Statistically, the skin is the heaviest organ.
