And I can relate too.
When I was a little kid all I ever did was sit back on the couch while one of my best friends fired up SA2 into the gamecube.
We had some epic times on the race minigame.

5/6 year old me, for the longest time, never even knew that the bio-lizard was even a thing because that friend of mine could never get past that one level with eggman where you're in Egypt and there's quicksand everywhere.
Didn't find out until after youtube became a thing and SA2 stuff started showing up in my suggestions.
When I finally got a gamecube and unlocked that part of the game, I used to get so frustrated when everything went zero gravity and you couldn't get anymore rings. Got the hang of it eventually.

And yeah, I discovered the Last story by complete accident. Though my achilles heel was Crazy Gadget. That level hated me so much.

Crazy Gadget ... that's the level where you're running around the space colony as Sonic and you have to flip those switches which changes the flow of gravity around you, correct?
Or is that a different one?
And if I have it right, then yeah, I didn't like that level very much either.
My favorite level was the one where you had to run away from that truck, second only to the final hazard fight.

Favorite might be Steel Harbor or Security Hall. Sunny's is Radical Highway.
