Whoo, what a surprise for me after a hard day of work!
First of all, we have the synopsis for the Season 7 premiere which, this time, is two back-to-back episodes with different titles: Celestial Advice and All Bottled Up! Maybe it's that Celestia episode we've all been waiting for?
Secondly, we have a clip from the premiere! With Starlight, yaaaay. 
But also Discord! 
Judging from this clip, it looks like it takes place right after To Where and Back Again, given how Starlight, Trixie, Discord and Thorax all appear to be wearing medals of honour. Oh, and Starlight's graduating (because clearly she's earned it). Good, hopefully this means she'll finally go away.
And FINALLY, we have some info from Discovery Family on new upcoming characters:
It says that Rainbow Dash's parents (confirmed to appear a while ago) are described as being "over-enthusiastic".
But ALSO, we have another guest star who's planned to appear in a very special summer episode with previously-announced William Shatner: that guest star being Felicia Day! Who you may recognise from Supernatural, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Eureka, The Guild and Dragon Age: Redemption, and who is another celebrity fan of the show! In 2015, she talked to Jim Miller on Twitter and was open to the idea of guest-starring in a season of MLP. Well, ask and you shall receive, guys!

Although I don't like your bashing of Starlight, I'm so pumped up for this season. Just wish the opening episodes had more to do with Celestia then her just giving advice. (Then again, hasn't aired yet. So... You never know.)

If she doesn't do something or shows legitimate regret for her actions you'll complain "Oh, she's just taking up space and whining about her past", and then when she's actually done something and earned some forgiveness it's "they turned her into a Mary Sue just to make us like her more."

4457821 have I said anything along the lines of "she was a Mary Sue". she's wasted potential. she could have been a good villain but all the build up to her was wasted on " oh her friend got a butt tattoo before she did". she could have been a good character but its all rushed. "all the little things she dose" is the best example of this problem. they could have given her 5 episodes with her interacting with the other mane 6 one on one which would have not only help develop her relationship with the others but also could have given her more subsets as a character. intend we have it all crammed into a "lesson zero" rip off she just shows that Starlight has the power of full on mind control.
and when I say all she dose is whine that is all she dose. tell me what are her likes, dislikes, what are her hobbies. there is nothing outside of her being a reformed villain. that might be fine if it was just a miner character but not with someone your trying to introduce to the mane cast

Whining is not all she does, if that's your best argument, then you should hate Princess Luna as well. Need I remind you that she identifies with Starlight, due to them having similar pasts and worries. Luna even says outright that she sees a lot of herself in Starlight.
In "To Where and Back Again" it’s revealed that she’s terrified of taking on a leadership role again, believing she doesn’t deserve it after what she did the last time she was in a position of authority, and is even fearful that it will cause her to go back to the way she was. That's not whining, that's showing legit regret over her actions.
It’s never established exactly when after Sunburst left she got her own cutie mark. for all we know she could’ve been a late bloomer, and by that point her mentality had been firmly locked in place by that experience and her inability to put faith in any friendship after losing her foalhood friend for fear of it falling apart again.
Also, I don't recall Trixie, and Discord's reformations being a problem. Hell, hers was done better:
The main difference is that she shows remorse for her actions outside of when they’re pointed out, showcasing some lingering guilt. Starlight is emotionally horrified by the fact that she nearly doomed all of Equestria with her selfish actions, and genuinely fears reverting back to the way she was. That fear influences her actions, sometimes leading to her making brash and poor choices, but she learns from them.
Compare Trixie and Discord:
Discord, despite selling out the mane six to Tirek and being forgiven rather quickly, was back to acting like a tool towards the mane five in his next appearance.
And while Trixie showed some remorse for her actions, she kinda relapsed and threw said remorse out the window once she realized that Starlight was Twilight’s student. It took her running off crying for Trixie to realize what vindictive bitch she was being.

Trixie and discord have more personality then her and people wanted to see more of that personality. After a sesone we don't know jack about her.

Everyone seems to forget one certain fact:
Sunset had a while movie to herself for her redemption arc.
Starlight needed several episodes for hers.
Both of them saved Equestria/Earth and were accepted amongst the Mane 6.
4458216 star lights was way too rushed. We got 2 episodes with her and none of it focused on how this redemption effected her.It was just 5 minutes later she's a good guy. With sunset not everyone was sold on her right away. There was dought and it wasn't instant forgiveness. With starlight couldn't they have at less one pony say "I don't trust her" even if it was proven wrong later it still be better then "we're all instant best friends now".
