Sober, My Little Drunken Angel · 6:07pm Mar 14th, 2017
Some of you might remember when I made that embarrassing blog post at the expense of Lise. Well, now is Sober's turn to get the magic--or something. You see, last night I came across a neat little statistic when it comes to my NLD partner in crime.
Our boy's hit a milestone: 200,000 reads across five stories! This makes me happy on oh so many fronts that it's hard to describe, but let's take a stroll down memory lane. When I first met Sober way back in the day, there was something about him that stood out to me. The guy always puts his team first, and I mean always. Every post, every AN, every description had thorough shout-outs to everyone that was involved with any bit of the writing. Whether it was an idea guy like Alticron to an editing slave like Word Worthy, the statements and appreciation were there. It was that attitude that drew me to conversation, and it was that attitude that stood out--and honestly, it still does.
Even in our collaborative projects, Sober is a partner-first kind of guy. He'll flat out say I did most of the work in NLD, a point that I fiercely debate with each iteration, but that's a different story for a different time. The fact is that I don't just get to congratulate you as a reader and a friend on this front Sober. I get to congratulate you as a guy who has been able to be on the inside of the creation process, and that is a pretty special vibe. Frankly, if not for your efforts, I probably would have bailed out on pony writing. Yes, there are certainly others that contributed on that one, and I'm not trying to undermine their magics. You know who you are. However, there is definitely something special about writing with you, about talking with you, etc... that undeniably kept me in the game and kept me sane. I guess what I'm getting at is that ya hit a fancy number in your writing pseudo-career, and I'm happy to have been a part of that, to have experienced your awesome character (your characteristics, 'Though Barrier is one bucking hot stallion.' Yes Tail, yes he is...), and to have done some offline stuff with you.
I lift a Coke and a Pibb to you, sir. May the milestone celebration be grand, and may there be many more. Also, why the fuck can't it be Thursday? I need that P.L.O.T.!
