The last research paper I worked on has published at last.

The process is REALLY slow. I finished all my work on this 3 years ago.

    https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2316969121

This one uses a lot of my histology and in-situ hybridization with RNAscope results.

But no more science for me. Now I build houses and driveways... and rip them apart too! It's a sort of yin-yang thing I've got going here.

A comedic scene from a new Clouseua story I'm fiddling with...

I just came up with this, and imagining Peter Sellers delivering the line had me laughing for 5 minutes straight.

Clouseau, "For you see, the murderer was... the bullet!"

    Guy in room, "The bullet?"

Clouseau, "Of course, no one would suspect the bullet of firing itself!"

Woman in room, "But that... that's madness!"

THE PIRATE KING BREAKS THE NETFLIX ANIME ADAPTATION CURSE!!!

Only the Pirate King could do it...

It's as good as possible. You cannot do such a goofy anime any better than this, and it's GREAT! I friggin LOVED it.

Last call for Bronycon items up on Ebay!

I'll be delisting all remaining MLP items Sept 1st to focus entirely on selling my huge stash of collectible magazines, which take up vastly more space than the MLP items. Everything here fits into a single flat box I can pick up with one hand. The magazines... weigh over 700 lbs total. Sooooo, kinda makes sense to deal with those ASAP!

Kobayashi-san Chi No Maid Dragon... · 4:04am Mar 10th, 2017

This anime has all the hallmarks of something that would be a natural crossover with Pony.

1. It's a good-natured anime/manga with magical dragons of varying types, talents, and personalities.

2. The dragons can open interdimensional portals.

3. The main cast are interested in different universes and can change their shape to blend in and learn, despite sill having many humorous misunderstandings.

4. They are very powerful and belong to two castes Order and Chaos, and yet they are not utterly bound to behave as though brainwashed. They have their own free will.

Thus, they could enter Pony and feel like natural parts of the story and learn all about the pony world and the dragons therein. And Discord might play an interesting role himself, given his affinity for Chaos.

You didn't mentioned that the human form that the dragons take are sexy like heck :moustache:

I've vaguely entertained the idea of SciTwi in Kobayashi's place getting a dragon assistant

I dunno, I feel like the dragons would just end up pillaging the ponies. They're not humans, after all.

You know whats weird... I find myself liking anime now:twilightoops:

For the longest time it was just the same old plots, character types, japanese culture, although theres nothing wrong with that, its just it gets stale... I liked spirited away until I found out the place the girl worked in was more or less a brothel, or something to that effect. and akira was okay, but Jesus was the person who wrote that grim...

Then Hellsing came along, making vampires awesome again! Then Drifters by the same guy

Nice to see they're mixing it up over there comic wise

4450872 But they're not like the Equestrian dragons either. Heck, one idea I've had is that Spike could have come from their universe in the first place; he was brought by a wounded parent fleeing the long-running human-dragon conflict there and nopony could hatch his egg until Twilight's overpowering surge removed the stasis-shield spell placed upon it to prevent it from being damaged.

And then we'd know why he doesn't have wings, why his greed growth becomes so excessive (he was never taught to control his dragon magic).

Yes, there's a definite story to work with there.

4452619 It was a bit more complex than a brothel, not really one as we know the term, but things happen at such places off the books so to speak... it's a Japanese thing.

Anyway, it never bothered me, since they were all weird spirit monster things. :raritywink:

Well, just saw it to the end... you know what I found weird. the seeming refugees among them. That little boys family were mages and could make gold and yet the father had a business (yay for not fucking the currency), and then there were the goblins and witches who attended the comic convention and even particpated in their true forms.

4491847 There's a lot more to go. The manga has been going on for quite some time and gets a little bit deeper into the human-dragon-magical creature conflict, and the inter-dragon conflict. But, it doesn't get TOO deep into it which would cause it to lose touch with its slice-of-life roots.

stiiiilll not to big on the boy she drake pedo subplot or the thing with kanna and that little girl. I get that since the artist ] who worked on it was in the "adult" field some perversion is there, and at this point that sort of thing is par for the course, but still

4493418 I've been a furry since 1999... plus I'm familiar with hentai... I've seen things... so many things... I'm not shocked by anything. The lunatic is in my head... :pinkiecrazy:

4494370
hentai i can accept whatever i may find wrong wit personally

furry

4494400 *chuckles* You'd be amazed how many furries are conservative. There was practically a civil war at one point! It was fun. Almost as fun as the one in 1861! :pinkiecrazy:

4494541
really? I sort of recall something that Ralph Hayes had to do with that

4498850 Oh man, you should have seen some furry forums during the Trump election. There aren't as many conservatives as their were (many are older than me and were online during the oldest version of the Internet before my family had ever seen a working computer... since we were dirt poor Pineys for whom a meal at KFC was considered a sign of extravagant wealth. :rainbowlaugh:

But now I'm in charge. And my powers are growing... :trixieshiftright:

4500248
I take there was a virulant self reflection resistant strain of chronic literal shaking?

and have you seen how expensive kfc is? shit man, better off making your own box of mac and a chicken breast

4500275 I'm so rich now I can afford... CHIK-FIL-A!!! :pinkiegasp:

4501119
so how bad was the reaction?

ehhh... i still like to make my own

4501199 Oh it was mainly just endless flame wars. I'm sure some of them are still smoldering. I didn't take part.

After all, I'd achieved my supreme victory election night when I joined forces with William Shatner on Twitter (he's a Trump supporter) to troll leftist hacks all night long. And now he's going to be in the show.

This is reflects just a flex of the true power I can exert. Soon, The Plan shall achieve ultimate fruition and my Empire will be complete. :trixieshiftright:

OMG I LOVE THIS ANIME! :pinkiehappy: Someone should TOTALLY do a crossover with them!

4592979 It really has many of the same tones and general themes.
