Hello everypony! I have an announcement for you all.
So I took a count of my follower count thus far, and this past week alone I think I've gotten six to eight followers (although I'm not too sure about the exact number 
). With my follower count approaching fifty just around the corner, I decided that I should write a special for you all! It can be about anything you want, within reason. I will write the story of the pony whose premise is the most interesting to me. Maybe more, depending on how interesting they are. All one-shots I make in this manner will have shout outs on whoever came up with the premise.
Additionally, I also have ideas written down on one-shots already, but I haven't actually gotten around to fleshing them out. Let me know if you're interested in me writing any of them.

Curious to see what Pinkie Pie is up to, she decides to investigate.

Tampering with the past always creates peculiar changes to the future. in the aftermath of Starlight Glimmer's tampering with their own timeline, Twilight has endured through various futuristic scenarios. By changing one minute detail, the resulting future would change drastically.
Most of the futures had striking vision with the villains Twilight Sparkle and the rest of the Mane Six fought against. There was the world in which King Sombra and his crystal empire rules over half of Equestria; there was a society reduced to tribalism at the hoof of Queen Chrysalis herself. One future, however, remains shrouded in mystery.
With her magical powers exhausted, Twilight Sparkle and Spike have been sent to a future bearing nothing more than the harsh, barren wasteland of Equestria. Until her magical reserves have been replenished, she is unable to return to the past to rejoin her fight against Starlight Glimmer, and she must survive in the most unforgiving of environments. While there, her curiosity of how this future came to be gets the better of her.

Forged from the fiery depths of Mount Alumbus rests an artifact long since forgotten. Said to have been of great import, this idol was once worshipped by the dragons of Equestria. For generations, knowledge of its existence has been passed down from one Dragon Lord to the next. Yet, because of the very sinister nature of its origin, no Dragon Lord has dared seek out its presence to embolden their culture.
Now, at the precipice of a fractured kingdom, Ember must face her worst fears. To save her kind from the threat of extinction by their own claws, she must venture forth to reclaim the long lost effigy. But she cannot do it alone. In order to accomplish this task, she must enlist the aid of unexpected friends. Namely, the Princess of Friendship, whom she sees as not only a friend, but possibly the one chance she has at saving her kind.
With the looming danger of a dragon horde threatening to escalate to all out war over Equestria, Princess Twilight Sparkle struggles to come to a solution to circumvent the pressing conflict. Having taken up the mantle to resolve this situation peacefully, it is up to her to come to peace with a seemingly uncaring foe. The task seems like an impossibly unrealistic feat. That is until the Dragon Lord comes to her with a proposition that could save countless lives.

All of those ideas sound amazing, I want to see all of them! Why does everyone come up with the good ideas before me, all I come up with is my OC's story and time travel.
Hmm, do I have any ideas... Yuppers, and it involves shipping.
I'm not really sure where to take that story idea, but it's all up to you, (if you want to use my idea) maybe some of Twilight's worries are about immortality, being treated differently, etc.
Also, I'm so glad you're getting so close to 50 followers! If I was the one deciding, you'd already have OVER 50 followers, after all, your stories are amazing! I'm glad to be one of the 32 you have so far.

Ah. It was an idea that popped into my head when I saw a post about someone basically challenging others to write a story about making the audience care about an inanimate object. So I thought it'd be interesting to write about that unique perspective. And I love being random sometimes.

That's alright, I was busy preparing for my live D&D game tomorrow on Youtube.
Funnily enough, I found a that was posted within the last day that has a similar premise to Barren within the last day. I hadn't looked at it until after I wrote the description for the one-shot.

I won't be able to read it until after I complete the one-shot, but I do notice distinct differences with tags and characters between our stories. Judging by the context of their long description, I believe what I had in mind for my story will have different deviation than where I plan on taking mine.
Perhaps when I get to writing Barren, I will have to have someone read both mine and theirs before I publish to see how far they deviate.

The idea of the premise came to me as I tried figuring out how they would come together. I started off with thinking, 'hmm... maybe if there is a task that Ember must complete that she cannot do alone. She would either go to Twilight or Spike about it on the account of them being the only friends she had.' And then it eventually led up to that premise. I can see this little puppy growing to 40 or 50k words easily.
