Attention, My Followers: Announcements, AMA, etc. · 5:06am Feb 16th, 2017
Hope you're all having a good 2017 so far. Anyway, I don't want to beat around the bush. Let's get straight to the point. I wanted to discuss with you all a decision that's been floating around in my head for quite some time now. And it's a decision that I'm 99% sure that I'm going to make. It's a hard decision. A painful one. Something that I've feared about for years and pondered about for the past couple months. It's a decision to break a promise I made back when I cancelled "The Doctor Whooves Chronicles". I wanted to make this decision before I began trying to write Season 2 of my Doctor Whooves series. As you can probably guess by now, my decision is to cancel my Doctor Whooves series.
If you've followed me for some time, you've obviously noticed how it took me forever to get around to writing each new chapter of this series. It took me two years to write the two final episodes of the "first season". And I am grateful to those of you who stuck around this long. Who cared enough to bear the long wait and still enjoy each new chapter when I was finished. And as I've explained time and time again, it was due to many factors. College, work, personal life drama, distractions, and terrible procrastination. But I was determined to at least get that first season written and released for all of you to enjoy. I wanted to finish the Discord Whooves arc. And now it's done. But, now, I see that I put myself way in over my head with the plans for this series. It took me nearly five years to write the first season. Yes, it's hard to believe that I began writing these stories all the way back in 2012. I was still in high school back then. But a lot has changed since then. I've enjoyed the ride. This series helped me improve greatly as an author. Hearing your praise and your criticisms. It's helped me grow over these past years. I had plans for this to be a four-season series. And you guys have already seen my episode lists for the second and third seasons. The second season was going to be practically twice as long as the first. If it took me five years to get through Season 1, God knows how long it would have taken me to write Season 2. Let alone two more seasons after that.
I wanted to make this decision now before I decided to try diving into Season 2. I've at least got one finished story arc under my belt. I didn't want to start another only to quit halfway through. But my decision isn't just based in my lost interest to continue this series. I've simply lost my interest in writing fanfiction. My passion for writing has moved on to original works. I've been planning out an original series for the past couple years and I've finally begun writing it. I'd love to tell you all about it, but I can't as it's a series I hope to get published someday. Who knows? Maybe you'll see it on bookshelves and/or Amazon in a couple years and some of you may be writing fanfiction about it. I don't expect to get that crazy level of fame, of course. That would make me look like an egotistical jerk and I don't want to push my luck. But I have a really great original series in mind that I can't wait to bring to life. All I'll say is that it's a fantasy series and, if my dream of becoming an author ever becomes a reality, I hope that you'll all enjoy it.
Now, this doesn't mean that I'm going to disappear from this website. I'll still be around. I may continue giving my reviews of future MLP and Doctor Who episodes for those who are still interested in hearing my opinions on such things. And I'm always up for some interesting discussion. Please, feel free to reach out to me here through a PM or the comments and/or on my Twitter. I'd love to further discuss MLP, Doctor Who, and whatever other topics you guys have in mind.
I also don't plan on leaving you guys in the dark about what the future would have held for Doctor Whooves. I plan to write a huge blog post soon with all of the details about what I planned for the future episodes and story arcs of this series. I know it's not as great as getting the full written stories. But I suppose it's the best I can do to make it up to all of you who still followed this series. I'll also be sharing the poster I made for Season 2 on Twitter soon and will feature that in the blog as well.
Lastly, I've decided to open up another AMA. It's been just over a year since my previous AMA. So, please, feel free to ask me about whatever topics you wish.
I want to apologize one last time for deciding to cancel this series. Believe me, it really hurts. I thought I'd see this series through to the end. But not everything lasts forever and times change. But, again, I really enjoyed the ride and I hope you guys did as well.
Being one who read your series from almost the beginning, it is certainly sad to hear that you're bringing an end to Doctor Whooves. I admit, I haven't read the last chapter yet. Now, I'll be reading it with the knowledge that it is the absolute last chapter. But it's great that you want to do your own original writing. Certainly, I'll be first in line to purchase it if that comes fruition hopefully. The just magnitude of the work you put into your Doctor Whooves story kind of inspired me to try writing my own series. I know I've talked about it on occasion, but have produced nothing mostly because I feel I should be primarily focused on finding a job. I also have a bunch of fanfiction ideas for other fandoms. Avatar: The Legend of Korra, A Dirk Gently/Doctor Who crossover, even a Rise of the Brave Tangled Frozen Dragon, and other stuff. I do hope you stick around on the site because I think you're like the only one of my followers who comments on my blogs.
And now for my AMA questions.
1. Would you be opposed to someone who wanted to finish writing Doctor Whooves for you?
2. Have you ever watched Samurai Jack? If so, are you excited that it'll be coming back for a final season soon?
3. Should Infinity Train be a show?
4. Remember when you did that list of Top 20 favorite shows? Are there any newer shows that would be on that list if you redid it now?
5. Is it a possibility that you'll watch Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency? 'Cause it's great!
6. You've read the A Series of Unfortunate Events books right? Did you see the Netflix series? Would you recommend it?

And I've always appreciated reading whatever you had to say in response to my stories, my reviews, and all of that. I look forward to seeing your own fanfiction ideas come to fruition. And, as I said, I'm not going anywhere. I won't be supplying this site with any new stories in the near future but I'll still be here giving my thoughts on new episodes and to further discuss whatever topics you and anyone else want to talk about. You definitely deserve more attention for your reviews alone. You seem to put a lot of effort into those essays.
