So they give you the input that's written on them and aren't just scrambled to fuck with people's heads? Well, I see why you would want to do it, but at the same time, why bother coming up with a new system if you can just optimise your typing on QWERTY? (Or QWERTZ as civilised countries use) Not to mention the optimal configuration of keys is very language specific. So if it's good for English, you'll be slowed down when you, for whatever reason, want to type in Polish due to using letters with different frequencies. (Not like you could do that with any kind of regular keyboard, anyway dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Applebloom_lolface.png .)

382886 This layout is over 70 years old. Also it relies on dispersing commonly used letters into 2 groups (aoeui/dhtns) etc. so it will work for almost any latin-character based language. QWERTY is just simply scrambling commonly used keys apart from each other, and it is probably the worst idea for layout.

In all seriousness, there is a point to it. Though, I type using my very own system, which includes using the left hand for most typing and only hitting a smaller fraction with my right hand. Basically, it's what you get from keeping your left hand on WASD and only bringing over the right one from the mouse momentarily to type stuff. Funnily enough, I think that English words appear to be built mostly out of letters I use my left hand for. That might relieve it, then again, why should I relearn typing?

People always mistake the Dvorak keyboard for being a "mistake" to a Qwerty keyboard. Frankly, your used to a Qwerty keyboard's style and you're not used to the Dvorak. Look it up before acting like someone's a complete retard.
