Watching more Season 6 episodes at long last... · 11:12am Jan 7th, 2017
And I can barely stand to watch more than a few minutes at a time of this. Seriously, I don't know if they're trying to be grating or what, but...
The list of 'Episodes I won't watch more than once' only had one entry after Season 3. Going from the end of Season 5 to the start of Season 6, it managed to add four episodes in a row. And now... Flutter Brutter. Number 6, and counting. Not entirely sold on the Christmas Carol episode, either, since, you know, the Scrooge character was completely right across the board, defeating the purpose of it even being a Scrooge. Seriously, you have to be a hard-ass to be a strong wizard? She's strong enough to cast a spell that'll brainwash the entire pony population to forget a certain day ever happened. Even if that's fiction within fiction, she's still right: she is pretty damn powerful if she can do that. Compare that to Rumble in the Big Day series: he'd have a field day ripping on that story.
I'm just... ugh, and I'm not even done with this episode yet. I keep having to pause it, now at the song.
Is this some typically anglophone thing? Or is it just me?
I only ask because, when the question is asked "When did you ever fail?" The answer is supposed to involve instances of someone actually failing. Not instances where the character succeeded despite being worried.
"Oh, I was so worried when the Crystal Empire was in trouble."
-"It's still standing, sis. That's not failing."
Bring up Rainbow Dash dropping out of Flight School. That's a frigging failure worth mentioning. This has to have spawned a number of fixfics when it first came out, I can't imagine people would just let that slide.
But hey, I'm sure it's just personal taste, and a lot of people liked it for... whatever reason. I'm sure it works as a parody of something or other I haven't seen yet. The Season will undoubtedly pick up in quality soon.
Edit: Stranger Than Fan Fiction and Carts Before Ponies right after... prediction accurate. But why the flying fudge wasn't Rumble in that race? Just going off canon alone, he fits into it perfectly, doesn't he?
But if the thing with the changelings isn't done well, someone's getting a visit from a bat pony, is all I'm saying.
Edit again: Watching Times are a Changeling now and... this is just lazy. Not an episode you want to be lazy on, either. Gettin' real tired of it by now.
In the meantime, here's a song for you to enjoy. Didn't see the whole film (Princess Bride was airing at the same time, which took priority), but liked what I saw. Hope you will, too.
