January: New Year, Lingering Illness · 9:18pm Jan 2nd, 2017
There's a saying I have when it comes to making any future plans: "Always expect anything to derail a plan, for any reason."
It's a very blanket-y statement, I'll admit, but it's no less true for any of the plans I make.
Anyway, hello, dear readers, fans, and companions. It's a whole new year, and I'll be blunt in saying my final days leading up to it have been tumultuous and aggravating. That is the kindest way I can describe it without devolving into a storm of swear words.
That said, fuck hypothermia and its frigid, icy grasp.
I've been in recovery since it happened on the 26th. Had the pleasure of developing a violent cough/sore throat combo strong enough to steal away all of my air from trying to laugh. Twice.
It's awful in many ways, but I'm nothing if not persistent in fighting my way to a full recovery, and today I've upgraded from being a bedridden mess to a walking mess. The hideous laugh-stealing cough is all that remains of this nightmare, and it's on its way out this week.
And, hopefully, written words will start flowing again. But before that happens, I have one last fight to finish. And with that, dear readers, I wish you all a better start to your new year than mine.
And as always, happy reading!
This seems fitting, well it's from another Tom and yes glad to hear you're getting better.

Oh dude, totally feel you. That respiratory infection that fucked up most of my December and finally went away the week before Christmas? As of last night, it's BACK in full heavy-coughing, phlegm-brewing, can't-breathe-well, bronchial-ache glory.
Here's wishing BOTH of us a speedy recovery!
