2017 and Beyond · 3:18pm Jan 1st, 2017
Hey, it's 2017! Man, that 2016 sure went by a hurry, didn't it? Hope everyone enjoyed their New Years celebration; I spent it with a mix of friends and family, which is really all a man can ask for.
Got a new chapter up, as most of you would already know. Vacation has left me a fair amount of time to write so I've been making decent progress.
So what's in store for the new year, at least in terms of writing?
1) A New Sun Rises still has a long way to go. I'd like to get it done in 2017 but it's a realistic possibility that it'll go over into 2018, especially in light of what I'll talk about next. The story has progressed to the ragged edges of what I've got planned out in detail, so I might need to take some extra time to map out the rest of the story in greater detail. Not that I don't mind writing by the seat of my pants at times, but it's not the best habit to get into.
2) As I've mentioned in a comment in NSR's review section, I'm planning some possible 'what if' side stories to supplement NSR's main story. They'll be non-canonical, of course, and basically give me an opportunity to go off on fun tangents that go beyond the 'E' rating that it has. There will be smut. I've never done a proper smutty story before, but it has been something I've been considering for a while. It'll provide good opportunity to practice. Which brings us to point three.
3) More Shadowbolts. 'Were We the Bad Guys' had sufficient enough success to convince me to devote more time and effort into writing about this cast of misfit friends. They'll provide a more mature cast so I can delve into subjects and humour that, again, wouldn't fit the 'E' rating. I plan to begin work on it within the next month or so. It will be smutty as well, but I intend to put a decent-enough story to go along with the sexy stuff. That does, however, mean that my main project will slow down since I'm not very good at devoting energy between multiple writing projects at the same time. I'm a fairly 'one job at a time' kind of guy.
Anyways, that's all to report. 2017 will likely be an eventful year; hopefully for the right reasons.
