Happy New Year and State of the Writer

I'm sure you've all seen a handful of these blogs, but I thought I'd write one anyway.

To start, I just have one things to say.

FUCK YOU, 2016

I like to think that we can all vouch that 2016 wasn't the best of years, for all of us. The start wasn't so bad, but the more the year progressed, the worse it got. I've had a lot of bullshit happen to me the last three months, none of which I want to remember.

But rather than focusing on the negatives, I thought I'd focus on the positives. Can I get any more corny with this? Yes I can.

Here is some stats that I managed to accomplish this year.

11 published stories,
4 unpublished stories,
1 reading to a story of mine (completely unexpected, can be found here)
Hosted a writing panel at BronyCon (which can also be found here)
And finally...
Edited about 4 stories.

(Non-Fimfiction stuff)

Managed to make the water polo team (although I couldn't play because of cost constraints)
Swam 1000m without stopping (8 laps in a 50 mete long pool)
Got through the first semester with decent marks
Found inspiration to write a story that's non-pony related, but would still be considered fanfiction
Managed to score work at my college

And lastly...

Found my love for the Good HiE group.

I've met a lot of great people in that group, many of which have helped me when I couldn't muster the courage to stand up on my own. It's because of them that I'm here writing this blog, so I'm forever grateful for what you've done for me. Even if it's just listening to how my day was, what my problems are (both mentally and physically), and just having someone to talk to 24/7. Not to mention their podcast (which airs every Friday @ 7:00 p.m, unless directed otherwise by special request from the guest) is something I now regularly look forward to since, well, it's a very good time. Incidentally, I've learnt many things that I can do to improve my writing from the podcast and members in the group.

Some people that I want to thank before this accursed year is over.
