I usually don't write blogs but...
Isn't the whole point of fanfiction supposed to be to unleash your imagination? Is it so wrong that we write several series that are usually family friendly into more, teen and/or mature setting, because that is how we envision it, even if some may not agree?
I guess what I'm getting at is that I just got criticized for the direction I went with my Sonic X: Friendship is Universal story...even with the Teen rating and stuff. Honestly, I didn't really care about most of what he said, but I was scolded for killing off a group of nameless background characters in front of Chris and Kat, and hardly made them feel horrified or, perhaps more traumatized about their deaths, because they are kids...
This got me thinking: am I suffering from Angsty and Edgy Teenager syndrome (if that is even a real thing)? And by this I mean having the mindset of some young teenage who just adds violence and cursing just to make the story sound more dark and edgy? Am I a bad guy now, just because I added something that's most likely controversial?
I usually try and ignore these things (except for the stuff that actually DOES matter, like advise on how improve my writting), but after thinking hard on this, it made me feel...horrible...

Well, I guess it doesn't really matter. I will continue to write my story and not change anything from my past chapters just to make ONE guy happy. But tell me, what you guys think? Should I stop killing off characters just because they are background characters who don't affect the story much? I know some of you may not like how I execute these stories, but hey, I guess that's what you put up with after reading other people's fanfictions in the past...
Welp, that's all I have to say and I'd love to hear your opinion on this. Bye.
P.S: I'm actually 25 and not a teenager anymore...
P.P.S: Amy DID do the Tarrot Card thing before meeting Sonic in person. She heard the stories about his heroics and fell in love with him, then used the Tarot Cards to learn more about Sonic and one reading revealed they were destined to meet on Little Planet, hence her apperance in Sonic CD.
One thing I've learned from being a "writer" is that you're not going to please everybody. So if there are some background characters that you feel don't impact the story much, then it is your decision on what happens to them. Make them move on, kill them, whatever. You are the author. This is your story. You write it the way you want it to happen. Don't let anyone stop you. There are always going to be critics. But there is also going to be praise for your work as well. So write your story the way you want. If someone doesn't like it, then they'll have to deal with it. Them not liking WHAT happens in the story is on them. What your responsibility is, as the author, is to make the story intriguing and appealing. Catch any mistakes in the rough draft, then fix them in the final draft. Then polish the story off, removing what you don't like and adding whatever needs to be added. That's how I do things anyway. I accept criticism, as long as it is helpful and constructive. If it's just "this story sucks", then ignore them. I hope this was helpful in some way!

I just wanted a new chapters to come out. But what ever happened to your story is your story. Keep it up can't wait to see it.
I believe in constructive criticism, but you do you. I mean, you are right, it is your story, it is about what you can think of... there will be those bad bugs out there, but keep doin' what you love.
When is the next chapter coming out are you dead?
