    Tentative Hope

It's been nearly a month now since mom passed away. I've pretty much finished my grieving, though I still catch myself as I'm about to walk in her room and hug her and say good morning. I used to go bug her all the time, if for nothing else than to just give her a hug. Thinking about it now, I realize I didn't hug her nearly as often as I did during the months leading up to her death, and I find

    News Update

Been almost a week now. Kinda surprised how fast and slow the days are going. I'm... well, I'm not dying from grief. I'm not recovered completely, and I think I need to make some changes at home before that recovery really happens, but I'm not drowning myself in alcohol or anything like that, so I guess I'm kinda middling on how I'm doing

    Bad news again.

I got up at seven this morning and went to work at nine. No sooner than I had clocked in and started stocking, I got the call from my aunt. My mother, who has been fighting cancer for the last half year, has lost the battle.

My mother has passed away in her sleep.

    Green Light

I have no New Years plans, besides the usual watching the ball drop and getting piss drunk, so I'm gonna say normal operations are resuming. However, Poker Night will have to be put on hold for the moment. I lost the notebook I use to keep track of how the game goes, so until I find it I can't do anything with this except flesh out what I'm tentatively calling Daytime Events, which is basically

    Merry Christmas!

    Bah! Humbug.

I love the concept of Christmas, or at least the basic one. You know me, I'd rather avoid the religious stuff. Not for a lack of belief, but for a lack of desire to test my patience on fools and idiots that only know how to parrot books.

Besides, I'm probably closer to Pagan than I am Christian, if I'm entirely honest. Not really sure. I'll have to look into that some time.

Take a seat, ladies and gentleman, and let your minds be blown. · 6:13am Dec 7th, 2016

This is what I'm talking about! This is what I struggle to portray when I talk about magic!

I see magic, in any universe or continuity, as an equal measure of art and science. When you conjure something, you need to initialize the conditions that would allow for whatever your conjure to exist. For a plain sword, you would need to consider the metal type, the forging process, and even the history of the blade. You would need to create every single atom from scratch, a process that require ridiculous amounts of power just for one atom, and arrange them PERFECTLY, nevermind the fact that we're talking about breaking the laws of physics by creating matter.

And those of you who know me well know that the concept of perfection pisses me off.

That Ponies can do all this on instinct alone is both terrifying and religion-inducing, and would make you cry yourself to sleep when you consider the idea of a human, a species of which that is notorious for letting scientific development outstrip cultural development, having magic. And then there's the fact that this only conjuration. What about destruction? Illusion? Evocation? Transmogrification? Summoning?

Motherbucking Space-Time manipulation?!

This is why I laugh when people ask why I like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The fanbase creates mind-breaking crap like this on a daily basis.

Thank you, Bucking Nonsense, for making this wonderful masterpiece.
