Thoughts on a Prequel? · 1:48pm Dec 6th, 2016
Hi everyone, so I've been plotting a lot about a Prequel for AiM, and ultimately it's been decided that it will be written.
HOWEVER... As you can see, I haven't touched the main story of AiM in weeks, has it been a month yet? I can't tell. I want your opinions:
Should I put AiM's 'main' arc on hold, and instead write the Prequel now? I have a much stronger fill/story already, where AiM still has potholes I'm trying to fill in.
The story of AiM's Prequel would center around the altering perspectives of Twilight Sparkle [in Equestria] and Sunset Shimmer [in mirror world]. Sunset would be the main protagonist (i mean of course i'm obsessed) while we would follow Twilight to keep up with Equestria's side of things. This would take place building up from maybe a couple years after Legend of Everfree/Season 6 and build up to the introduction of some of my Next Gen characters.
Honestly, I feel like this would be a good platform to use on other websites, such as here and Tumblr, who aren't as well-versed in my next gen drawings as deviantart is.
What do you think? Would you be disappointed if I decided to go this route first? I don't think it would be as long as AiM, (but I could be wrong lol)
Doing the prequel now might be a good idea, since like you said, people don't really know your world too much yet. Introducing people with something they're already familiar with will probably get you a bigger audience. I'll be sad to see AiM put on hold so soon, but I'm interested in this prequel story as well
