Dragon Spire

MLP:FiM, Undertale, and Jekyll and Hyde. These are of the Holy Trinity of my obsessions in which I lay awake at night and wonder about. And sometimes, if I can't sleep, I write about them.

    Proof/Sneak Preview

I've had a lot of difficulties with this chapter. I still do. And I regret having to make anyone who is still reading and waiting to have to wait so long just for the next part. But I want to thank whoever is still tracking this story and being so patient for me to finish. I seriously doubt I would be writing today if not for you and the comments that you post. There isn't much I can give, but I

    Sorry, Guys!

So apparently, while I was editing yesterday, the chapter I was working on somehow got published.

A half-written, broken worded, and foot-notes-scattered-about chapter somehow got published. I swear I don't remember clicking the "publish" or even seeing it on the front page for recently updated stories.

    I am not dead

Hey, everyone. It's been a while, huh? I've been so inactive that there's dust all over my profile picture. I don't have much of an excuse except, "Life happened." Between slogging through other writing assignments, getting pulled into new Steam games like Starbound and Fallout 4 (What age am I living in?), and even going through the death of my conure, who I had for less than two months,

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

I know I disappeared for a little bit, but considering the holidays and wanting to catch up on some other stuff, I just wanted to take a break from writing about murder-crazed horses. Technically, I'm still taking a break. Christmas is chaos, after all. But Sparkyll and Hyde will resume in the new year, once I'm refreshed and ready to write again.

The next chapter of Sparkyll and Hyde is just about ready! I'm aiming to release it sometime tomorrow. (Monday, December 5th) Tuesday. There was more to edit than I thought, okay? But I swear it will be tomorrow.

On another note, however, I feel like I need to ask something that has been on my mind a while, and that's what you think of the story. The comments section there is full of people saying they love it, and I am thankful for the positive feedback.

What I'm mostly curious about is, what do you like about my writing style/narrative? And what about the things you dislike? How can I improve it? I'd like to learn how to grow in something I love doing, so tell me, even if it's a thousand words of how bad I am at publishing frequently! It'll drive me to move faster, I know!

So far there are three main contributions to my love of your fic, though they are far from being the only reasons.
The first is that you provide an excellent amount of detail, fully enriching your world thus making it all the easier to connect to the characters who are struggling within it.
The second is the presented struggle between Dr. Sparkle and Hyde. You present it as not just an inner turmoil between good and evil as the original musical did, but offer intriguing questions and arguments brought up by Hyde thus fleshing this villain/victim into a far more interesting and complex character than, dare I say it, even the original novel did. The
last is the dedication you yourself have put into, it is obvious from the first chapter on that you truly care about this fic and its fans.
On the subject of complaints, I have very few other than the few issues I pointed out previously. My main complaint at this stage is you could have handled the "In Her Eyes" song a bit better.

4329311 In all honesty, I was literally writing the chapter for In Her Eyes when I almost considered cutting it out, as I wasn't sure exactly how to execute it. But when the time comes, I'll most likely tweak it so that it runs a bit smoother.

Nooo, I'm not crying. This is liquid pride, people!

In all seriousness, I do feel like I'm dedicated to this. I've always loved the concept of Good versus Evil and even the best heroes having inner demons, and J&H (both book and musical) gave me a way to express that passion for it. (And this passion is exactly why I'm going to see this through to the end)
