Google says Hillary won the vote by 400,000. That's not a small number.
So why is the other candidate considered the elect?
Still slowly trying to disentangle from MLP. It is ... slow going.

Because it is usually considered by which states he won, not by amassing all the votes together in the entire country and counting them. The popular vote is, more or less, just a extra statistic. I believe that George Bush was the first president to lose the popular vote, but still become president anyways.
It sucks, but I have yet to see anyone in a high position of power call for a change in the system. Votes are considered more as 'the way the people in your state want the electoral college to vote', and the ones considered good at their job follow the way their state votes. Not the way the majority of the country voted.
Believe me, I want the bastard gone, but to just about everyone in the country, it's over and he is the next president.
4299094 He's currently facing about 75 lawsuits, so there's still hope...
4299131 Yeah, he has as many scandals and problems as most president's do when LEAVING office, not going into it!

That's because the people with the power to change it are people who benefit from being able to ignore the popular vote, who are the people with the power.
The only solution is a riot/protest/march, as that's how you get government to do things it doesn't want to do.
