ABOUT THE ARTIST:
A fresh discovery in the Equestrian record market, Oncoming Storm is Equestria's entry into a new breed of soul vocalists that already includes Issac Hayes, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Al Green and many others. His music - like that of his contemporaries - is succeeding largely because his songs - and those of others that he sings - are for his own voice - one that is graceful, soulful and beautiful, and one that expertly and effectively communicated understated romantic feelings to audiences that might not have otherwise been alerted about them. Oncoming Storm began recording early this decade - 1970 to be exact - and has been trying to get deals with various record companies; none of the dates with them were lucky dates. Then along came Braeburn, a seasoned artist at United Artists, who listened to a demo tape he had recorded at one point. Sensing that this stallion had a potential future as a household name, Braeburn brought him to the attention of Fancy Pants, the executive of UA in Equestria, who promptly inked his new contract. He has an incredibly bright future ahead of him if the charts are any indication.
ABOUT THE RECORDING:
This album was recorded using the most modern of studio facilities. Attention to every detail of the recording and mastering process has produced albums of unparalleled audio excellence. The master recordings were done on an Ampex MM 1200 24-track recording system using Scotch 250 tape with Dolby ‘’A’’ Noise Reduction. A battery of microphones used included those from RCA, Telefunken, Neumann, Shure, AKG, Struder and Sony. Final mixes involved MCI and Ampex ATR 100 2-track tape deckis using Ampex 456 and Agfa 468 mastering tapes with DBX noise reduction. Lacquers were done on a Scully mastering lathe coupled with the Capps computer system.
