Gary Who? Inspired heavily by the story Not the Hero, this would be my own take on a Gary Stu deconstruction.
Gary Stu, Element of Wisdom, First Alicorn Prince of Equestria, and fiance to Princess Twilight Sparkle, is having a strange day. One minute he and Twilight were fighting against Starlight Glimmer, trying to keep her from altering the past and preventing the Sonic Rainboom. The next, he's fallen through a strange portal and landed in Ponyville.
Everything seems normal and fine. The world is safe, the crystal castle is present, there's no villain ruling things... but nopony remembers who Gary is or any of the wonderful things he's done. They all say that Twilight Sparkle and her friends were able to triumph on their own. Without his help.
But there's no way that could be right... is there?
Another Digimon Story: The Digital and Human worlds were at war for years. Were being the key point to that sentence. Peace was declared a long time ago, but not everyone agrees with the idea of humans and digimon getting along. One powerful digimon in particular has done all he can to, if not reignite the war fully, make it clear that he won't allow peace to exist between the two worlds.
So when karma finally catches up, he's rather interested to discover he somehow survives the encounter. Though not entirely intact. Whatever powers that be exist have a sense of humor that's to be sure...
Seeing as he's stripped to the barest minimum of his powers and made into a partner for some human brat.
