Okay, so I heard a while ago that China was going to make a live-action series based off of Inuyasha called Holy Pearl. I didn't watch it for a long time because quite frankly, I thought it was going to suck. But I sat down and actually watched it. And holy crap. It's actually...good. :o
In fact, I would say that it is BETTER than the original anime/ manga because they use South Vietnam mythology and really build up the world and character conflicts so it actually makes sense.

Keep in mind that it is very loosely based off Inuyasha, but it still has the same themes; two brothers who hate each other, have conflict, magic, fights against demons, someone who comes from the future into the past, etc. A lot of the plot points are similar to the manga and anime as well. Basically, you can see that it draws heavily from Inuyasha, but at the same time is its own universe/ creation. Or unique imagining of the world. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you have some time.
Fun fact: the same manga artist (Rumiko Takahashi) who wrote and illustrated Inuyasha created some other really popular mangas that got turned into animes later on such as Ranma 1/2, Mermaid Saga, and Rin-ne. All of Rumiko Takahashi's work is worth checking out as well.
